I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead. In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful. I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.MarlenePortugal - 10Scored 10

I loved the sun, the water, the history of the people, the moutains and the rest of the land, the beaches, Tarrafel and the kindness of the people. IT was a positive surprise.
IT was a positive surprise. Cape Verde is a great place to visit. Great sea front restaurants Street Art Nights are filled with fantastic music and rich food. Some great beaches in the outskirts Of Praia. Visited Tarrafal and Assomada and Cidade Velha for its History and beach . « Portondi nos ilha « was also vert interesting place visited. Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Nice atmosphere, somewhat between Africa & Brasil. Santiago is not a place for beach holidays, but interesting for people, culture, food... Great nature & beaches in driving distance, car needed.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.

Huge window that opens with the shades overlooking the ocean good bed to sleep. Lots of glass around the property also is a plus doesn’t make you feel trap in the hotel. Terraces pool and bar with magnificent view of the ocean and all around the city. Closed to alot of great places to eat and listen to live music. Definitely my new favorite place to stay in Praia I will return soon. Love the place.

From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the sea and nothing blocks your way. I would say it’s the best view in town. The area is safe and peaceful, you can reach the beach Quebra Canela strolling along the promenade and there are some really nice cafes and restaurants close by in Av. Santiago in Palmarejo. The hosts are very lovely and helpful and provide you with all information you need for your stay!

Walking distance to the best beach in Praia and some local shops. Best thing about our stay was the Picoteo Tapas Bar that is located on the ground floor basically at the same building - we spent all evenings there! Best staff, best tapas, best cocktails in Praia, an absolute mus visit.

I liked that they gave a bottle of water for guests as we don’t always have time to go and buy some before arriving.
