La Trinidad is a lovely place; an old but nicely renovated building with a lot of character and charm. You can experience a bit of traditional rural life there, far from crowds of tourists, with the neighbours' roosters crowing and quite a spectacular view on Teide (if there are no clouds). La Guancha is a pretty village with some attractive hiking paths, starting just behind one of the chapels; we enjoyed walking there in a beautiful pine forest, taking in the views and peacefulness. We also really appreciated La Trinidad's patio, where we could have our meals if the weather allowed it (it can be quite changeable in spring).
