The hotel is very well located, in front of the central train station. I asked for a quiet room and I got one, on a higher floor over a side street -- it was perfect. The price is very reasonable for a downtown hotel. The single room was small but clean, and nothing was missing.

Easygoing and green, Nantes is the gateway to the Loire Valley. On a delta between the Loire, Erdre and Sèvre rivers, this once important port is now an innovation pioneer.
A former shipyard, the Île de Nantes in the Loire now has bars, clubs and restaurants. However, its most intriguing feature is the Machines of the Isle of Nantes, a collection of weird and wonderful mechanical sculptures – you can even take a ride on the elephant.
Across the river is the moat-surrounded Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, a fortified castle and former home of Breton Dukes. A few streets away is Nantes Cathedral, whose façade is reminiscent of the one in Reims. Place du Bouffay in the historic city center is home to many restaurants and bars, while the 19th-century shopping center Passage Pommeraye has a range of stores over 3 levels. For a taste of daily life head to Talensac market.
Other Nantes attractions are the Japanese Garden at Île de Versailles in the Erdre, the former shipowners’ houses at Île Feydeau, and the Jules Verne Museum, celebrating the city’s most famous son.
Don’t head to Nantes Airport from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or B&B without having tried the local speciality – crêpes. Delicieux!

The Chateau of the dukes of Brittany is a first class tourist attraction a two minute walk from the hotel. There is an excellent museum of the history of Nantes and an unmissable exhibition about Genghis Khan. There are no translations from the French - but Genghis Khan has an English audio guide.
We also enjoyed hanging out in the Botanical Gardens also a short walk away.
Nantes has amazing public transport with five tram lines. They are free on Saturdays and Sundays!

I went by train specifically to visit an exhibition at the Chateau and the hotel was perfectly placed both for that and the railway station.
The restaurant I had chosen proved too far for this weary traveller. I ate near the Chateau at La Loco (recommended by the hotel). Largely a fish menu; what I ate was freshly prepared and perfectly cooked.

Nantes is a very photogenic city with great architecture and fabulous river views. It has a good selection of high street and independent shops and restaurants with cuisines from across the world. The trams are reasonably priced and are free to use at the weekend. The Jardin des Plantes is lovely to stroll around, showcasing so many different plants and trees. Nantes is well worth a visit.

Nantes is a wonderful hidden gem of a city. Not too touristy. good food, great shopping, easy to get around with walking, tram, or bus. The museums are the perfect size, the botanical garden is a wonderful break (with a delicious cafe), and there are many sidewalk cafes and restaurants.

It was stop for one night to go to Renesfrom England.
It was stop for one night to go to Renesfrom England. Took a uber for 20 mins to get to the hotel through the industrial area of course not so beautiful.
At night walked out of hotel for dinner, very quiet and most of shops closed causing darkness. As a woman walking alone wasn’t comfortable.
However, in the morning took a tram to go to the train starting was very convenient and people are so kind.
The hotel and room was very clean. The staff was very helpful. The hotel was within walking distance to the city centre ( 20-25 minutes), you can also take the tram , which is just near it if you prefer not to walk.
We stayed in a room for 4 adults, with a king size bed and a double sofa for my children. The room had a kitchenette with all necessary appliances( dishwasher, cooker, microwave…).
Note that if you are staying in Nantes between 14/07 and 15/08, you can park free in the street near the hotel, as it is in the yellow zone.
We loved the welcome on arrival and the detailed information on Nantes and its attractions. Ideal location so close to the city centre and all the sights we wished to visit were in walking distance. Loved the decor and ambience of the dining room and decor throughout the hotel. Breakfasts were excellent and staff so attentive. It was out first visit to Nantes, my grand daughter anxious to appreciate la vie française and soak up the atmosphere. Of the three locations we stayed in Hotel Voltaire Opera was our favourite
Breakfast not included (was a coffee machine but no milk). great location a short distance off a main road, in a small square next to St Nicolas Basilica. I had an unexpected treat from a long and harmonious peal of church bells. About 20 minutes walk from Nantes SNCF station, I easily caught a bus there at 07.00 for E1.80 and a shuttle E10 from there to the airport. Many bars and cafes nearby, would be a good centre to see the city if you can't afford anything more comfortable than this cramped little flat.
The apartment is in a very convenient location being a five minute walk from the train station and 15 minutes to get into the center of Nantes. There is a supermarket within walking distance and a number of restaurants. The apartment is very clean, spacious and comfortable. It’s decorated tastefully. There is a parking garage with a space for a car but we used it for our bicycles. The kitchen has adequate utensils to be able to cook. We loved the place and would return.
Great location which was easily reached from the city centre. You can get the tram (around 10 mins) or walk which was around 2 miles .
The unit we stayed in was well equipped, clean and comfortable though the seating area comfort wasn't that comfy.
The unit had lots of dishes, dishwasher and a Gas BBQ for your use.
The staff were very helpful so we purchased out Pass of Nantes from the reception area.
The mini golf provided plenty of entertainment.
Location was excellent, close to a city parking and central to everything in Nantes. The apartment itself is very well maintained and has beautiful charm to it. Loved the kitchen and how stocked with items it was! Having a kitchen was my main reason for booking this apartment. I liked the videos the owner sent to explain how to access the building. Please watch that well before you attempt to enter the building or you’ll get lost.
I am absolutely delighted with my experience at this hotel, travelling from Ireland all down France to the south of Spain and have stayed in a few places when we weren’t camping. This is by far our favourite place we’ve stayed. The man that hosted us was just spectacular and super kind, very welcoming, the place itself was perfect too and had everything we needed and more! Thank you so much!
We've choosen this hotel just for the location - near the Beaujoire Stadium where were concerts we'd planned to visit.
The room was spacious, the bed was clean. Huge Carefour is very close to the location, and about 15-20 minutes from Gare SNCF by train (by the way, the tram is free of charge on Saturdays and Sundays!!!). And that's the only thing that was good there.
Excellent location at the end of the historical centre, but half way to the Island of Nantes so perfect to explore both.
Staff was very kind and helpful, they organised the early check in for me, gave some useful tips.
Room was very clean. Basic, but above 1* it holds.
Reception is not open whole night, but you can easily enter with the door code at any time.
Super smile and cheerful lady welcomed us. Provide and explain the touring information to us, and with all maps and even restaurants timetable. The room itself is with very nice design though the size was a bit small. Love the hotel itself was turned from a chapel.
Parking is easy inside. or street parking not difficult too.
I had a very pleasant stay in Nantes. Bruno is an excellent host, always attentive to our comfort, and he has recommended places to visit. The house is close to the tranway which makes it very accessible to anywhere in the city you want to go. I highly recommend it.
Location was good for travel to Nantes. Rooms were clean and had the amenities needed. Hotel was modern with a nice breakfast eating area, bright and lots of windows. Outside seating area with fire pit. Very nice staff! Safe paring in code gated lot.
Great location, not far from the centre of Nantes. Parking a little tricky since the whole area around the hotel is now pay parking (50€ for 10 hours, pricey!). We dropped the car further out in a free parking area, about 15min walk from the hotel.
Loved the staff and cleanliness of the room. Although v basic it was spotless. Very quiet and great location, right in centre of Nante. Buses opposite hotel. Sister hotel up the road looked after our bags. Very helpful staff. Highly recommend.
The hotel is very well located; less than 500 metres from the castle and the city centre, yet in a quiet street. Also very near the main train station; easy to simply walk to the hotel from the station.
Right in the centre of the city it was ideal if arriving by bike like I did. Hotel was a little tired and looked ready for a refurb. Breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful.
all very good , location perfect , just few minutes walking from centre
Please pass my thanks to receptionist Simon ( dont know if spelling is correct ) - lovely person
