Grand Hôtel de Bretagne, hotel in Le Palais

Hôtel de Bretagne is in Le Palais, on the island of Belle-Ile-en-Mer, and features an on-site restaurant with a panoramic view of the port.

Neat and clean as a pin, fantastic view out onto harbor where a storm was blowing in, cleverly designed space so a small budget room didn’t feel cramped for 2 in twin beds. Best: the staff! We arrived late on the ferry which nearly had to return to Quiberon after a technical problem at the dock. We looked for an open restaurant (off-season) and couldn’t find one anywhere, so the night manager convinced the closed kitchen to make us two lavish marinated fish salads with bread and wine. The next day we realized that we had miscalculated the off-season bus schedule and after every taxi service turned us down, he phoned Felix the hotel director to take us out to see the needles of Port Coton, Monet’s subject. He threw in a small tour of the island, getting us back in perfect time to catch our ferry. What service!!! Better than the fanciest hotels of our stay in France. Highly recommend.

Hotel Saint Amant, hotel in Le Palais

Set on the island of Belle-Île, Hotel Saint Amant has rooms with a flat-screen TV. It offers a sun terrace, a garden and free WiFi in public areas. Each room includes a private bathroom with a shower....

Very conveniently located in the heart of town and within easy walking distance to the ferry. Our room overlooked the courtyard and was light and quiet. There was a nice breakfast available in the dining room for an extra 12 euros per person. The staff was helpful and quickly took action when we asked them to fix the slow shower drain.

Le Cardinal - Belle-Ile-en-Mer, hotel in Le Palais

Le Cardinal is located on Sauzon Bay, on the coast of Brittany. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a children’s playground and there is a small beach at the foot of the hotel.

This hotel is a gem! The location was wonderful. Close to the village of Sauzon ( 6 minute walk) yet high on a hill overlooking a picturesque bay dotted with white sailboats. Beautiful facility looked quite new. Very light and bright. And the dinner! The dining room buffet was the best I've ever had. More like a cruise ship experience! All you can eat seafood buffet and a superb main course. Bread, cheese, salads and wine included, plus killer desserts. All for a modest price. Beautiful cocktail lounge, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, the works! The nicest staff ever! Lovely young people were so helpful.

Le Palais is the main town in Belle Ile, which is well named as it is beautiful. It has restaurants, creperies and interesting shops as well as tourist ones. Many people sail here and moor for a night or several. There is a fine 17th century citadel overlooking the town and a little harbour with lots of watch.

Le Palais is a strikingly pretty town, with a beautiful harmony to the streets and buildings. Sitting near the harbour for a drink or dinner (I mean the harbour behind the port where the ferries come in) is an absolute delight. We loved watching the fishmongers prepare the fish in the market too. Get up early to get yourself an electric bike to explore the island. So much beauty, so many hidden coves and fabulous beaches...

Like stepping back in time , clean quaint , full of quirky little shops and colourful traditional buildings . It was a magical stay and I could not recommend Le Palais or La Belle Ile any higher . I visited purely on the back of a book I read which was a novel based on the Island . I decided to visit and I was not disappointed !!

Great apartment right in the center of Le Palais. I was here, for a week, with my (2) 16 years old teenagers and this was a very convenient location to allow them to wander safely. Plenty space for the 3 of us. The place has everything you need, well furnished. Walking distance to everything, including the ferry. Host was very nice and available when I had questions.. Would recommend and rent it again.

Staying in a Vauban fortification site is extremely special and the design of the hotel respects the historic site. The rooms are the rooms of former soldiers of different periods in history, which makes the stay unforgettable. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the room overlooking the sea was just splendid! Very good food too.

Ideally located in a quite corner, pretty close to Le Palais and 50 m awau from a small nice beach. A little bit isolated though. Not exactly a walking distance from the Le Palais, probably 20 minutes' walk to the center, we took a car. A brand new house, very clean and super-equipped.

We had a light cheese plate in the garden, under the sun, in the late afternoon. Breakfast was excellent. We have enjoyed the electric cycles (to hire directly at the hotel). Great team. A very nice stay!
