We thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent location and convenient parking facilities provided. The central location made exploring the area a breeze, and having a parking lot available added a lot of convenience to our trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for both accessibility and ease during their stay.

The hotel is perfectly situated inside the walls of La Cite, a short walk from all the highlights. The pick-up from the communal hotels parking lot below the city walls was very convenient. The welcome at the hotel was very warm. We were offered a delightful beverage while sitting in the salon to check in. The hotel upgraded us to a room with a lovely view, very comfortable in size. The bathroom was adequate with nice amenities. There were a few steps up and down to get to the elevator but nothing we could not handle. We dined in the one star Michelin restaurant inside the hotel - La Barbacane. The food and service were excellent and given the bad weather it was an especially good choice to dine at the hotel. Breakfast is served in the same restaurant with a wide choice of buffet items and foods cooked to your request.

Historic, comfortable, clean hotel in a great location near the medieval cite of Carcassonne and with excellent cafes nearby . Newly renovated bathroom with great rainfall showerhead and heated towel rack. Very helpful, knowledgable owners. Nice buffet breakfast. Great rooftop viewing spot of fortress.

great location nice staff. The bar not open late was a downer. We wanted a snack but had to wait 45 mins for service and then the guy never came back to take our order so we just went to bed.

We booked a week at Cavanac Chateau and a ‘Suite’ room...
We booked a week at Cavanac Chateau and a ‘Suite’ room paying a premium price and expected the highest quality and service. What we were provided was a second rate basic level accommodation and the staff, including the manager owner, did not respond positively to issues raised and appeared to have no desire to. The Suite provided additional space but that space had a luggage rack in it and two office style chairs - there was no sofa or comfy chair in either the bedroom or the additional space, so my wife and I could not have a romantic snuggle or relax properly with a glass of champagne. There were six, or seven, black hairs in the bath when we arrived which took two days to get cleaned. The breakfast was absolutely minimal, without any variation, and when items ran out they weren't replaced for two, or three days, even when informed. The same happened with the toiletries, the hand cream being a particular problem. The Suite walls were devoid of pictures, or interest, completely without the Chateau character you would expect in a property like this, more like a Sanatorium. There was no bottled water provided and no fridge. They save money by turning the lights off where there are steps on the ground floor and no light switches to be found - highly dangerous. The one upside was we had some great food in the restaurant and the staff were much more friendly there. We were credited €50 (5%) and offered a bottle of champagne for our pain after making quite a fuss. A very, very disappointing stay particularly with the defensive ‘I don’t give a damn’ attitude of the owner. We would never book there again. Avoid.
