Do not stay here, this hotel is unkept, dirty, run down, and in dire need of maintenance. The room was not what we booked, so we were forced into a tiny cramped room. I had to sleep with half of the lamp hanging over the bed. The window wouldn’t close, we were in the second floor but still unsafe

A lovely selection of artisan shops like the butcher and baker. The cathedral is wonderful and the Bayeux tapestry unmissable as we're the WW2 Normandy beaches. People were friendly and helpful. I would visit the area again

Traveled in late September and most of the restaurants didn't open until after 7 pm. Very hard to find restaurant that was open. Other than that, a charming little town. This is the second time we have visited there. Really enjoyed the Bayeux Tapestry. Great for a stay to do guided tour of Normandy WWII battle sites.
Upon arriving, we found the Hotel under construction and we were accommodated at their sister property the Belle Normandy. The same ownership has both hotels. We were treated like royalty. The rooms were large and brand new. The breakfast was excellent and the staff helped us a lot. We do not speak French and they helped a ton. we went to restaurants they recommended and had wonderful dinners. They helped us set up a tour of the Battle Fields and made sure we were comfortable at all times. No question we would go back to this same property.
We loved our stay at Belle Normandy. The location is perfect, with beautiful grounds right on the edge of town, only a five minute walk to the cathedral and all the shops and restaurants. Our kids enjoyed the basketball hoop and would have stayed at the hotel much longer if they could have! The staff were amazing. They were friendly and helpful on recommendations, and they also seem very proud of the hotel, which was renovated from an old school. It is a very special place, and I highly recommend it.
The hotel was really close to the Bayeux train station, less than 5 min walk, and the staff was lovely to let me check in early. The rooms are a nice size with comfortable beds and breakfast is a typical french breakfast with coffee and pastries. The hotel is not too far from the bus that takes you to Omaha beach or other WWII memorial sites if you are there for the history. Definitely would stay again and highly recommend it.
This is a great hotel to serve as a base to explore Normandy and the D Day beaches. Located in town, it was an easy walk to explore Bayeau and to many restaurants. Free parking is a short walk to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again. Only negative is that there is no lift and the upper rooms are accessed by steep, windy stairs which could be difficult for those with mobility issues.
We had a fabulous stay. An oasis centrally located in Bayeux. Our hosts, Gilles and Michael were most welcoming and entertaining. Prior to arriving we got in touch and they organised our dinner reservations for our stay which were all great. The gardens are a beautiful place to relax in and the breakfasts are delicious. Our stay has become one of our fondest memories of our trip to France.
This was a last minute find due to an unexpected cancellation. Much better than the one we had originally booked. Simple, plain little apartment in a fully restored historic building on the edge of the old town centre. Perfectly located. We stayed 4 nights. Easy to get in and out of Bayeux. We also always got a parking space right at the gate in the street.
Fantastic location in the heart of the city. Room was on top floor, overlooking the beautiful garden. Breakfast was terrific. Car park on property which was incredibly convenient. Wonderful location for touring of Normandy. Must visit the Tapestry in Bayeux as well. Galettes are spectacular. Also, WWII Museum in town is a must see as well.
Beautiful and Cozy apartment in the heart of Bayeux!
Really comfortable, practical, clean and well kept.
Merwen is an amazing host, checking we were fine since our arrival and loved the bottle of cider left for us!
If you are looking for an amazing holiday in Normandy, this is place you need.
We will go back for sure!!!
Check in was easy. Breakfast was the normal French buffet, but they did offer scrambled eggs cooked just for you. The bathroom shower was large and very nice. The hotel is right in the heart of Bayeux so walking to restaurants was easy. The front desk was wonderful with making dinner reservations for us.
The house was beautifully decorated and maintained. Absolutely spotless. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our hostess Florence helped us connect with our Normandy Beach Tour to confirm that the tour company would pick us up at the hotel. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Villa Lara was a beautiful property. It was in a great location in Bayeux, because the D-Day tour we booked started at a meeting point that was only a 2 minute walk away. The hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Great stay.
We loved this suite! To our surprise we had the whole top floor of the house, with a sitting room and mini kitchen in addition to the bedroom. Everything was perfect, and it was the nicest place we stayed in our whole 3 weeks in France.
Room in the annex was large, comfortable, and quite. Attached restaurant was good, and location is less than 300 meters from Normandy tour pick-up location and the Bayeux Tapestry.
The hotel is close to the city. It was in a beautiful location. It's a bit far for those going to the Normandy beach, but it's pretty good about the hotel.
