Le Moulin de la Farge is a lovely place hidden in the heart of the Limousin. Our hamlet consists of a water mill, a farmhouse and a cottage (formerly a bakery). The buildings are constructed in a traditional, stone style and have their origin in the 17th century. The hamlet is beautifully situated, bordering a lake with a brook, and is surrounded by rolling hills, woods, and meadows. (Note: the neighbouring lake will be empty for maintenance from May to December 2024.) You will find it located in a very quiet area at the end of a paved road, approximately 5 km from the village of Saint-Moreil. The B&B is located in the farmhouse that has been completely renovated. It was refurbished in keeping with its traditional style, but features all modern conveniences. The B&B has two guest bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, these are situated on the first floor. On the ground floor you will find the guest living room and the kitchen, where breakfast is served. Outside is a large terrace and a spacious garden. Breakfast is included and is provided by us. On request you can reserve a 4-course dinner at 25 euros pp (incl. drinks). We cook 3 times a week, in principle on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings. You can make your own coffee and tea (free) or take other drinks (‘honesty bar’). Note: Our B&B is remote. The nearest shops and restaurants are 20 to 30 minutes away by car.

We are Jan and Loes, a Dutch couple who have settled in France. We would love to share our wonderful place with you. We live in the rear part of the farmhouse and are therefore readily available if needed.

The beautiful surroundings are ideally suitable for walking and cycling. There are numerous walking and mountain bike trails directly from the B&B. We have a few mountain bikes available which can be used free of charge. There are also many quiet (paved) roads in the immediate vicinity for cyclists. Swimming is possible at various places in the vicinity (the neighbouring lake will be empty for maintenance from May to December 2024). Le Moulin de la Farge belongs to the village of Saint-Moreil. The Romanesque church (12th-13th century) and the village’s old washing place are worth a visit. On Thursday evening there is a small market, where local produce is sold. On Thursday and Friday evenings a small pub is open, where they serve home-brewed beer and snacks. For other facilities you can go to the nearby medieval towns Bourganeuf, Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, Peyrat-le-Château en Eymoutiers, each with their own sights, shops and restaurants. Le Moulin de la Farge forms a good starting point for all kinds of trips in the region. Such as the lively city of Limoges, famous for its porcelain. The beautiful old town of Aubusson with its unique Musée de la Tapisserie. The impressive museum village of Oradour-sur-Glane. The large market in Felletin on Friday morning. The Lac de Vassivière, which offers various water sports and also hosts a contemporary art centre. The large wolf pack that lives in the spaciously designed park Les Loups de Chabrières near Guéret.
