Enjoyed the thermal baths and the valley of beautiful women, but the castle museum was a bit of a letdown. Definitely wouldn't spend more than one night here, but could even just pass through it for a short visit on the way to somewhere else.

The Basilica is a magnificent building There are lots of museums to visit, under the city, fire museum, sports museum, marzipan museum & many more Restaurants are plentiful with lovely food & wine on offer

Eger is an incredible location to visit! It has it all! From historical sites to thermal baths & wineries. Something for not just all ages but also budgets. We over heard people talking about an excellent restaurant at the citadel and indeed 1552 restaurant was esquisite!

We made the mistake of coming during the winter, we really wanted to enjoy nature in the mountains and to visit the national park. Due to weather conditions we couldn't do much and the national park was closed. The steam train nearby was also closed. It's a cute village to visit, i bet it is more beautiful during spring/summer/autumn.

The beautiful old town, relaxing thermal baths located in a charming park (there is a free parking just next to the park!), delicious food, wine and wonderful palinka, and above all, friendly residents. Visit the castle, the huge cathedral, the Franciscan church and the beautiful Esterhazy library. It is also worth visiting Egerszalok, walking through the vineyards, eating in the local restaurant and seeing the Hungarian pamukkale.

Really nice and relaxing especially in the evening -- you can just walk from one wine shop to the other and taste a lot of different but still perfect Hungarian wines. Very kind host, delicious breakfast. And the restaurant is also perfect. Eger city center is not too far, only 2 km and ~30 km to walk. Do not drive by car, you have to drink a wine as you are in the main wine area of Hungary We can recommend it to others also

The place is modern- it has everything you need, very clean and actually in the heart of the city. The breakfast absolutely delicious. We really recommend this place!
