FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery and Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green-spaces of any other European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College holds the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

Being one of the most youthful European cities, Dublin has a vibrant nightlife scene with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

The Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish holiday, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, a self-catering apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

Dublin might not seem as likeable or picturesque as other European cities, but has its own undeniable charm that lingers in your memory long after you leave it. Public transport is not the best, we struggled a bit with the system and witht the TFI app, but generally ok. Public toilets are hard to find (if there are any). The city centre is beautifully walkable.

Very easy to get to with Dublin Airport Shuttle, close walk to Connolly Station and very close to museums. Affordable eats nearby. Wifi and lots of room in onsite restaurant/cafe. Took trip to Ireland last minute and was able to get accomodations. I would say without a doubt that staff is friendliest most helpful staff I have ever met - 18th trip to Ireland and have travelled to many many places for business and holidays. Sleeping in pod was new for me, but if you ever slept on train - no difference.

Lovely hotel, very clean and efficient. Room was beautiful, shower was amazing and spotless. Security was very good within the hotel, considering the concert and other events in Dublin which were on. Price was reasonable enough for Dublin, especially considering the eventful weekend that it was. Staff were outstanding, happy to help and very kind. Would definitely stay here again, so accessible and easy whilst attending the concert and easy to get in and out of the city centre too.

Amazing experience from start to finish. As it was our honeymoon, they upgraded us to the Royal Suite at no extra charge. The suite was simply the best place we've ever stayed. Rainwater shower, huge comfortable 4 poster bed, and our own observatory complete with telescope so we could see all of Dublin. The meals were good and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We loved our stay at Clontarf and we will be back when we visit Ireland again!

They even found a quiet room where I could check in early, which was incredibly helpful after such a long journey to Ireland. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great location: - not directly in the city centre but Dublin centre so easy to reach via bus or on foot - close to many services (restaurants, pubs, supermarket, coffee shops...) Nice staff, helpful when asked questions about the busses and the services in general. This was a great stay in an expensive city. The location is convenient to the city centre and transport options. Breakfast was great, and I even got used to the loud music playing at breakfast time. You don’t get hotel staff or apartment facilities but once used to the way things run - it is a great spot. I will certainly stay here again when back in Dublin.
