The room is cleaner and more spacious than what I imagined. Breakfast is quite good. The hotel itself has quite a long history and there are quite a lot of elements showing its glorious days. The female staff I met, whom I guess is the hotel owner or one of them, was quite helpful ,though a little bit indifferent. But come on, it's Norway, maybe it is the standard nordic style... Polite but not too enthusiastic. Totally understand and still willing to put thumbs up.
Other reviews made me apprehensive about this stay.
What a pleasant surprise.
We were in the separate building and the room was good sized with a good bathroom. It seemed to be fairly newly done up.
Breakfast was good and plentiful.
We had dinner here. Yes the menu is not as good as many hotels, but this is on a campsite and so menu caters for that. The meal was plentiful and good.
We were very happy with our stay.
Very spacious room with a lovely view over the river. Quiet surroundings despite the close proximity to the main road (E6). The beds are excelent and secured a good nights sleep. The hotel have a long history and have managed to keep the traditional norwegian interior with a lot of untreated wood, giving the place a nice rustic feeling. Yet the standard and comfort have been upgraded to modern expectations.
This were our 3rd stay at this hotel, and once again, all our expectations were met. This was a family trip and we rented 8 rooms. The rooms are large, fresh and very comfortable. Family rooms have a separate room for the kids. Good variety of food for breakfast and dinner portions are huge and tasty. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
we stayed overnight on our way down south for the night. It was just what we needed and exceeded our expectations. We loved the mountain vibe of the rooms and the hotel in general. Nice sized room and comfy beds. Able to go for a walk straight from the hotel. We didn’t get to use it but they even have a sauna (pay extra)
Everything. Beautiful location, great facilities, comfortable room, really good food and reasonably priced, friendly, helpful staff. A really good hotel, the best of our trip thus far.
