One can get a little nostalgic when talking about the development of Hua Hin. The first beachside resort town in Thailand was originally a small fishing village. It manages to maintain a laid-back atmosphere despite chain hotels invading the best vantage points along Hua Hin Beach.
The current King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej, spends much of his time here in the royal residence of Klai Kangwon Palace, built in 1927. The local Thai population have followed ever since as they escape the stifling heat of Bangkok.
Hin Lek Fai Hill provides the finest outlook of the bay and its 5 km-long stretch of beach. The central Hua Hin Night Market satisfies your wallet and your stomach with its mix of local souvenirs and freshly cooked seafood.
These days there is a distinctive cosmopolitan flair to the city with many restaurants and hotels purveying a European influence. It is also less hectic than Pattaya, the rival beach resort on the other side of the Bay of Thailand.
Hua Hin Airport has flights from Bangkok, and the wooden Thai-style train station is regarded as the prettiest in Thailand. The city has many hotels and resorts for families and couples and Booking.com can also accommodate you at the famous Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas.
walking town but mid day heat! lots of dining options, not only thai..very good fresh sea food..at street corner early morning, local auntie prepares minced pork satay on grill, with sticky rice ! very tasty as starter for day..local foot massage offerings very good. grab service not plentiful..hotel manager very helpful! pier view hotel is small, quiet..near sea.. pakpao cafe adjacent for breakfast..buffalo tavern adjacent for mid day meal, cold beer! hua hin car transport from don mueang airport good service and return!

I've been a regular visitor to Hua Hin for over 20years.
I've been a regular visitor to Hua Hin for over 20years. My favorite place' Despite the influx of tourists you can still find the Thai way of life. The night market is still a favourite for many but try the Thai food and entertainment end of Soi 102 and the Tamarind towards Koh Takiab (Thurs till Sunday). Ther's a cheap Baht bus 20baht. Stick your hand out to get on. Beware they cahange to more expensive taxi after 9pm. Petchaburi is a gem > wander around the world heritage temples and buildings It's vibrant market finishes at noon. The new Train station is vast and impressive. High speed trains some time in the future. Hope it doesn't spoil Hua Hin.

I liked the city so much!
I liked the city so much! we were there for almost 2 weeks and i think 10 days would be enought but still. we didn`t visit sightseeing places there
there is such a beauty in an old city of Huahin, in the romantic old-fashioned railway station, the beach is good, it`s quiet and not so many people in the city.
I especially liked the street art which is done by a team of two people so they use ony stylistics. the murals give the city this spesial vibe
maybe could be less of massage salons but it`s Thailand so no bragging on that
people are good, the sea is good. the fishing port is nice. very calm place, quiet. not for partying etc. even though there is a pub street so if you like socializing it`s a spot to check
i loooved the city and want to come back for sure!

We have been going to Hua Hin for over 24 yrs and have never been disappointed, stayed in many different types of accommodation from hotels to air B and B`s , and managed apartments , we prefer to stay out of town as it’s quieter and a tuk tuk is only around 150 baht for a trip into town .
It’s only 3 hours from Bangkok by private taxi company, safer than the mad dash mini vans and well worth 1,700 baht to travel in a bit of luxury ,
We ate at the white orchid restaurant which we really liked also in Cicada weekend Market and the Night Market in town and if your not keen on spicy food then head for Father Teds Irish bar as they have a full range of English pub grub ,
What would we avoid on our next visit? Probably nothing at all , but do beware of the pavements if your unsteady on your pins ,

It took us a day to work out how best to get around, some basic information about this in the room would have helped. We walked, cycled and used the songthaews (local buses)
The centre is lively and busy, staying at the Marrakesh hotel meant you could dip in and out of this at leisure. I would stay there again.
There was also a really good yoga studio nearby - Shakti yoga. Yod is a really good teacher, I would recommend him if you’re in to yoga!

I have been traveling to Hua Hin frequently since 1987 and experienced it as couple, as family with kids, solo and as retiree with friends. Hua Hin has something to offer for everybody, active or lazy, with culinary delights and accommodation for any taste and budget. During our most recent visit on January 20 (2024) we happened to visit the beer garden in front of the Market Village (a Saturday night event). Drinks, food and live Music were outstanding. Admittedly the music selection was tailored for senior foreigners like myself (69), but the vast majority of guests were just that and me and my friends were amazed how well the live band performed. For visitors new to Hua Hin the beaches (there are many all the way up to Cha Am and down to Prachinburi) are a must just like the night bazar. If night life is your thing you will find some too.
The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on away from home, room spacious and stylish. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean in all areas. Restaurant for breakfast good... lunch, there was a set price menu and drink deal...evening dinner, Korean food.
The pool, gym, pool bar were on the roof. Happy hour from 5 til 7 for cocktails. The hotel had a free shuttle service to take guests to and from Hua Hin and the beach. Highly recommended, we would stay here again.
Very good sized room with bath and 2 showers and excellent hot water and pressure. The room immaculately clean and our house staff superb. The salt water pool on the rooftop looking over Hua Hin and out to sea a great place to relax with a cold beer. The location great.Very handy to night market, beach, dozens of restaurants and Father Teds sports bar for those who enjoy a drink and meal while watching your favourite sport.Staff speak good english.
The room and facility complex was top notch. All the amenities you could ask for and so well kept. Everything was kept clean and ready to use. I may look into buying a unit for personal use. Wonderful place just a couple of minutes walk to a nice quiet beach. A minute walk to two of the best night markets in Hua Hin. And a few minutes from 7-11 and other stores. Absolutely loved this place and can not recommend enough for short or long stay!
I thoroughly enjoyed the charming beach rustic ambiance of the hotel. The mall just opposite of the hotel and the 5 min walk to the beach. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond with their helpful and friendly service. A special mention for their thoughtful gesture of providing a breakfast box when I had to check out at 5 am. Additionally, the pool added a delightful touch to my stay.
Great location for Hua Hin train station (about 15 minutes walking), Hua Hin night market (about 5 minutes walking) and beach (about 5 minutes walking). Hua Hin has generally a great choice of restaurants.
Beautiful interiors of the hotel, each room and floor is a little different - no room is the same (I stayed in three different rooms).
Upper floor rooms have partial sea view.
Roof top swimming pool is amazing.
The apartment is very clean and spacious, and the owner provided all sort of things for the guests, like coffee, Milo, strawberries and snacks, a premium TV package, high speed internet, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, etc.
It is within walking distance to the Khao Takiab beach, the Hua Hin beach and the Khao Takiab monkey temple.
There are many restaurants and convenience stores just outside.
We spent a night in this hotel, located in the prime location in Hua Hin. Proximity to everywhere, except the beach front. During COVID-19 period, cleanliness should be at the paramount important and this hotel met our expectation. The staff were professional. Hotel amenities were pretty awesome, and the facilities were well-maintained and in a new condition.
I love Amari Hua Hin because their hotel staff are very friendly, accommodating and can speak English well. So we feel at home and comfortable during our stay. Their swimming pool is clean and our kids love to hangout, and same goes with their Shoreline Beach club it’s a great place to unwind and relax. Highly recommend to family and friends.
Lovely hotel in the town, feel like an oasis in the city. Hotel Manager and staff were all very friendly. We travelled with our 6 month old and found everything very baby friendly (crib set up, high chair, beach toys, large pool loungers, food at breakfast) at the hotel.
Breakfast, restaurant and spa were also great.
We spent 2 1/2 weeks in this practical hotel with a great location. We had a small balcony and could see the ocean and mountains . There was a plug beside the bed plus one by the hot water pot for our morning coffee. Daily cleaning and bottled water was nice. Close to the Hua Hin Night Market and beach .
Very clean and well-maintained boutique hotel close to Cicada Market and the beach. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is impeccibly clean. Room was also clean and comfortable. There is still quite a Christmas theme at the hotel, including gifts upon check-out! Great value in terms of price.
Excellent location close to Hua Hin center, but very quiet with the very good (if not best) part of the beach. Staying in the garden villa was like staying in the tropical garden. Spacious room and bathroom. Good breakfast with sea view. I can recommend.
Great location, in the centre of Hua Hin and right on the beach. Big pool with shallow areas for children to play. Good sized condo with plenty of space. Towels and beach towels provided, good selection of kitchen crockery and utensils.
The staff is great and kind. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location is quiet and serene. It is just 700m from the beach and also other tourist attractions of Hua Hin.
Would love to visit the same place again.
The rooms are huge and comfy. The breakfast is one of the best i had in Thailand. The infinity pool is super nice and the beach in front of the hotel is amazing, just a few minutes walking to the Monkey Mountain.
Nice resort next to the beach but not far from Hua Hin Night Market. We booked 3 rooms for 6 of us and got all rooms connected which was nice. The breakfast buffet was good. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Great little hotel in the centre of hua hin, with good WiFi. 5 minutes walk from everything, beach, bar/restaurant/nightmarket etc....
Would stay again if visiting hua hin.
Classic historical hotel, great staff, elegant bars, beautiful grounds, and a super location. Very comfortable and right on the wonderful Hua Hin beach.
