My friends and I absolutely loved staying at Pongwe Beach Hotel. Most of other guests were couples, but it was the perfect place for us to relax after a couple of weeks on safari. The property, rooms, and beach are all stunning. Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming. I happened to be there on my birthday and they made it very special. Every meal was delicious!

We loved our stay at Pongwe Beach Hotel! We were looking for somewhere to relax after climbing Kilimanjaro, and it certainly delivered. The staff was amazing, the grounds were beautiful, and we chose the room with the private plunge pool and it was so worth it. The restaurant was great and always offered Western and local options for each meal. There was a Swahili buffet on Friday evening, which was delicious. The breakfast was a combination of self-serve fruit, bread and yogurts, along with made-to-order options that varied slightly each day. The hotel also helped us arrange a snorkeling/hand-fishing trip one morning from the beach for $20 USD per person. So fun! Would definitely recommend for a private, relaxing vacation.

We travel a lot and I must say that I have not come accross prettier a rustic property. The food is outstanding and the staff is very helpful. The pictures don't do justice to the on ground reality( it is much prettier). It is a calm and peaceful place for tasteful travellers. The missing airconditioners aren't a problem and the breeze beds are totally worth it. Bush babies at the bar are the celebs. We stayed for 6 nights and loved every minute spent.

exceptional service, lovely rooms, amenities like providing guests with a beach basket, robes, and a sun hat in case you forgot to pack it. The beach was secluded and very quiet. The air conditioner above the bed was fantastic.

everything actually it so recommended felt like we are out of this world 1- food is amazing thanks to John the best chef who cares personally about each guest he was so friendly and catered to every request we had even if not in the menu the food is amazing that people come to eat there from surrounding hotels 2- the service and people are so caring and the service is 200% 3- the beach is amazing might see sometimes the water is low in photos but usually it’s really good by mid day and we enjoyed swimming so much the water is warm and pure just amazing 4- we had tried the one bedroom private pool and we loved the small cozy pool however it’s private but the villas are open so it’s not 100% private though however no one happened to be around during our stay 5- we visited in a low season no idea why it was it was supposedly rain season however in a week stay it didn’t rain at all

Beautiful beach spot, rooms and facilities are charming, comfortable and with excellent taste. Staff were very nice and attentive, food was great! (very impressed with how they managed to get such fresh varieties, food presentation was also spot on!). I enjoyed myself so much that I extended my stay, TWICE. I will surely stay there again if I get the chance.
