Pictures do not do Ushuaia justice, and I had seen many pictures before. I could stay here and have plenty of options for things to do if my time allowed. We are already planning our return trip! Whether you love large areas of open water, alpine mountain scenes, wildlife viewing or local trinket shopping, it is all available here. Driving is an interesting experience with lots of hills and people who seem to drive as they wish, but once you adapt it isn't bad. Lots of places are closed for siesta/afternoon break (1-4 PM) so plan accordingly. Also, if renting a car be aware that there is a "Guarantia" that is separate from your normal rental fees and insurance that is charged to your credit card when you pick up your car. This was our first time renting a car in the country and were surprised when we found that we would have an extra charge of over $1000 USD to cover at the counter, just a heads up as guarantia is due at pickup and will be a $1000-1500 USD deposit on your card that doesn't show in your original booking.

Ushuaia is an amazing little city..it was so much bigger than we had expected! There are tons of souvenir shops, stores, restaurants, and tour operators in the area. The views of the mountains and the Beagle Channel span every where you look. It's breathtaking! It's a very walkable city as well.
Our favorite spots to eat were the Patagonia Brewery, Casimiro Bigua, Bodegon Fuenguino. Special shout out to Dublin Pub for some good drinks and fun ambiance!
We took a tour of the Beagle Channel and saw tons of wildlife. We also did a guided hike through Tierra del Fuego and rode the End of the World train. There's so much more to do there..we wish we had more time! Loved it all!

Ushuaia is a great place to visit.
Ushuaia is a great place to visit. We walked with the penguins tour with Piratour one day and hired a private driver with L&M Ushuaia Taxis another day to go to Tierre del Fuego. Both days were memorable. There is a great lamb restaurant on the main street with 3 lambs on a spit in the front window - the lamb was superb! Taxis are cheap and plentiful. very glad we visited Ushuaia - the end of the world!

The boat trip is well worth it…we got one where we did not get off the boat. This was sufficient and we still got very close to the penguins and sea lions who did not seem bothered by our presence.
Also a local guide for the National Park is recommended, ours was very knowledgeable and took us to the best places, he also gave us options of where we wanted to go and we could spend as much or as little time as possible.
Going to the Post Office at the end of world and sending a postcard from it was fun :)
I would say 3 days in Ushuaia is plenty but we were very lucky with the weather.
Also, just in case you need it, there are some good places to eat for Vegans 🌱 especially Isla Vegana
They were super friendly and also recommended good food places with vegan options for the evening … yaaay

The national park was spectacular.
The national park was spectacular. The food, off the main strip, was cheap and spectacular. The city is the port to Antarctica and Cape Horn is just outside the Beagle Channel. The people are kind and welcoming. It is a wonderful city with mountains in the backyard for hiking and climbing. It is a top knot h outdoors city.

The City of Ushuaia has its charm.
The City of Ushuaia has its charm. Yet the surrounding area was unbelievable. The taxista Raúl Medina (+54 9 2901 50 6867) showed me El Parque Nacional, the city of Ushiaia and drove me to the parking lot for Laguna Esmeralda. Visitors can contact him for his services. Along with the staff of Aionkenk Raúl made my visit one of my best vacations ever. The bar Santos on Maipú is a local watering hole and restaurants El Faro and Moustacchi had great food. The cruise on the Beagle Canal to the penguin rookery was grand!
A nice hotel in a quiet neighbourhood but still close to the city centre, shops, supermarkets, piers, etc. Good breakfast and a comfortable room.
Ada and Hernan are very warm and attentive, always making sure your stay is going well. Hernan was brilliant in sorting one of our key excursions, transport to a trek, taxis and is full of recommendations of things to do, places to eat, local tips and is wonderful to have a chat with. If we were to return to Ushuaia which we hope to, we'd happily stay here once again.
The location on the Beagle Channel is phenomenal. We had a suite that was very spacious and so near the water that we felt totally within the spectacular Tiera de Fuego nature. Truely a great hotel that fits with its style fantastically into its surroundings. A little drive from Ushuaia, so you are away from the hustle and bustle and can enjoy the great outdoors close and intense. The hotel staff and management are very helpful and accommodating. We definitely remember our stay here. It was outstanding.
It's a small and 'intimate' B&B -- not a hotel! It's run by a young lovely couple, both very helpful and friendly. They will work to make the most of your stay in Ushuaia.
The rooms are spacious and the breakfast, tough simple, very good (with eggs and fruits).
They can (and will) help you with tips and with reservations (remis, restaurants, rides, etc).
We had a great time there and do recommend Las Retamas.
Amazing view from our room and the common areas! Comfortable and clean room. Great bathroom with robes, double sink, soaking tub and separate shower. Good breakfast. We loved sitting in the bar/lounge and having dinner or a snack and drinks. There were beautiful hiking trails right out the hotel! The staff organized a car for us to take us where we needed to go, and he was awesome.
Awesome staff, Miriam, Gustavo and Gonzalo and great people who make us feel like home. They are very resourceful and attentive to all the details. Great eating, activities and hiking recommendations.
The hostel was very clean all the time.
The breakfast was abundant, good quality and great attention. The best we had in the whole Argentina!
Big rooms with views to the beagle channel.
The house has a really good vibe and the owners treat you like part of the family. Breakfast is served since early in the morning and you can have it whenever you want. The views of the mountains from every window are incredible and the rooms are really comfortable. If you need touristic info about Ushuaia, they happily will guide you in what to do according to your wishes.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good with a big selection. We ate in the hotel bar for lunch and the restaurant for dinner, and the food was delicious. Our room was large and had a lovely view. The hotel shuttle bus was useful to get to town. There was a comfortable lounge area where you could relax and enjoy the views.
The hosts were amazing, do not juge an hotel by its facade, when we arrived in was in construction we almost turned around but its really secure, there is an outside door to the complex that is always locked. Our rooms were really clean and everything that we needed was provided. Not noisy at all. And the washing machine was a blessing!
The hotel was perfect. We made a reservation for 2 nights but due to airline strike we had to extend our stay by another 2 nights. It was no problem at all to make this extension.
We specially appreciate the kindliness of the entire staff, the nice room and the excellent breakfast buffet.
Staff is amazing, the location is superb (close to downtown, eateries, museums, pier). The breakfast is really good with a great assortment of food. Everything at the Posada del Fin del Mundo is outstanding!! A great place to stay when visiting Ushuaia - fully recommend it!! 😊
Perfect little apartment in Ushuaia. It was in such a convenient location and it was very easy to obtain keys and reach the location. The rooms were very clean and did the job for our stay in Ushuaia. I would definitely return the next time I am visiting.
Cabin was cozy and clean. Great space for groups - especially because of the queen beds in both rooms! A rarity throughout Argentina it would seem. Liz, the host, was amazing and so friendly and helpful.
Very nice hotel in an excellent location. We chose one of the more spacious rooms with amazing views, which was well worth it. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this hotel.
Hotel is comfortable and staff are helpful. The manager, Mariela, helped us immensely when travel was shutdown by a strike by extending our stay. Nice restaurant , bar, and spa.
Miguel is a fantastic host and made us feel as if we were at home. We loved the place and the way everything is organized. A true gem and great place to stay in Ushuaia!
The views at this hotel are excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice and large (I think we had the least expensive type of room).
Good location. We had a car but could be walkable to city center. Clean rooms, comfortable bedding, very nice breakfast. Would recommend. Great price for Ushuaia.
Super comfortable, cute well equipped studio. The host did everything to accommodate my needs. Was a great stay in Ushuaia and very very warm with heated floors
