When we finally found the hotel which is in a back road near the station it was a pleasant surprise. Possibly could use a sign on the main with directions. As we missed it 3 times.

Warm welcome, safe & easy parking, great decor and ambience, excellent breakfast (fresh juice and savoury bread in particular!), quiet, liked the fact that we could open the windows in the room rather than have to use aircon, friendly and helpful staff, water for rooms in reception - great idea.

Great location, the must-see sights are all within 10-15 min walk, many bars and brasseries are just a few minutes away. The hotel is also close to the Saint Leu area with bars and restaurants near the river (10 min) (see photo). Parking in the nearby parking garage (90m away) is also good, it felt safe. It is a dog-friendly hotel and also the staff was very nice and accommodating. I got a room on the second floor and had a very nice view on the cathedral (see photo). I had a pleasant stay and on top of that the weather was sunny.

It is a lovely city and the hortillonages are very interesting and lovely to walk in.
The cathedral is well worth a visit and we had the privilege of attending Sunday Mass there which we loved. Very reverent and befitting of true worship. Beautiful singing.
We can also recommend Ad Hoc Café in the St Leu district. Good food and well priced; good vibe.

This visit (my second to Amiens) Day 1 started at the Saturday canal-side market, lots of stalls with seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs grown in the Hortonillage and the Somme region. Then I dipped into some shops - including an inspiring visit to the ground floor of the big Monoprix where clever lighting makes quite ordinary day to day food look irresistible, some of the many new and secondhand bookshops, a huge ironmongers and an over-the-top patisserie. In the afternoon, to Jules Verne's house: a wonderfully, eccentric building; full of marvellous furniture and objects, very well curated. I spent the whole of Day 2 (7 am - 4 pm at the extraordinary - huge - Spring Braderie. I found that my visit to the Jules Verne house, and its thoughtful interpretation made the market especially enjoyable. Many of the stalls had examples of the things I had found so interesting in the house - for instance archeological finds, including flint axes, found around Amiens; corals and shells; endless examples of oil lamps (some working, other 'do-er' uppers). Many stalls had very good pieces of ceramic from different periods and cultures. Lots of the stall holders were up for a good bit of haggling. Then a glass of beer in the sun-shine ,sitting on the street outside a cafe, buzzing with laughing locals and visitors.
Amiens is a very walkable city, its buildings are fabulous. It's lively and very clean.

Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral.
Lovely old town centre and especially the cathedral. Well worth a look around. Nice cafes. Parking was initially a problem as large town centre car park ticket machines did not work. We got a side street machine which worked fine.

Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking.
Amiens is a small city, and perfect for walking. The cathedral in particular, is spectacular, but it's not the only place of interest in, or around, the town. St Leu, and Les Hortillonnages, plus Le Jardin des Plantes, are well worth visiting and, of course, many of the WW1 sites are within very easy reach, by car.

Amiens is an old city with old world charm.
Amiens is an old city with old world charm. It is great walking through the old town and the cathedral. It also has a lot of great restaurants. Amiens also is a great base for visiting the World War One battlefields.
Lovely, welcoming, staff. Our room was spotlessly clean and very well equipped - couldn't fault it. Dinner was delicious and fairly priced - not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. If arriving by car, the private car park has ample room & no headroom restriction. We were in a van and stayed at Le Vivier instead of staying in Amiens where surface parking is limited & not necessarily secure. Great to stay in family run accommodation instead of the usual chain hotels
Not only an excellent LOCATION from which to visit the Somme battlefield, Amiens itself was interesting- the hortillonage, the cathedral (fascinating tympanum), and some lovely restaurants. We spent 2 nights at the Priory which is wonderfully positioned, just steps from the cathedral, and with parking close by. The hotel, and our room, fully met our expectations. The staff were very helpful before and during our stay. We would happily return, and would recommend.
The Gem is ideally located for a few days in Amiens, the heart of the city centre is all within easy walking distance. We didn't need the car during our stay so having free parking at the end of the road was really helpful.
Recommendations for dinner options were spot-on and really good bread, croissants, coffee and juice for breakfast.
The room was spacious, comfortable and peaceful.
This was a much better option than similarly priced chain hotels.
Amelie and her family made us very welcome in this beautiful century old hotel, lovingly restored. Amelie gave us good advice on what to see , and where to eat on the quay. The cathedral towers over the property in Rue Robert de Luzarches, named after the architect who designed this epic building. We left after a lovely breakfast served by Amelie
We arrived late but a quick phone call got us inside and into our room. We found this a charming, character-full hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. The cleanliness and excellent bed were much appreciated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic French hotel experience.
We were upgraded to a Privilege Room at no extra cost which had a wonderful vie of the Cathedral.
The location of the hotel is fairly central so it was very easy to see the sites of Amiens
We ate in the hotel restaurant and both the evening meal and breakfast were very good.
Private parking and terrace definite bonus. We were in Amiens to cycle on the Somme Valley Cycle Route and close proximity to the river was great too. The owner was very helpful before and during our stay and nice little touches in apartment for our stay.
The room was clean. Location is good because not too far from the train station and the water canals.
There is a nice walk down the hotel with grass, ponds and water running. It is nice to walk around there if you want to relax or rest.
The house was perfect for our overnight stay on our way south. It was clean & comfortable, with parking on the street outside the property. Amiens centre was beautiful, with plenty of restaurants & only a short walk away.
Clean, tidy rooms. There weren't big but enough for a 1 night stay. Very convieniently located for onward journeys through France. It is also located near an estate with shops.
