Everything was perfect. The only flaw I'd have was the WIFI. I would definitely stay again though.

Loved the quaint little town and the shops, restaurants and pubs available to us. Also, the grocery store was very well stocked and the SPAR there had laundry facilities that we so badly needed to use.

Plenty of excellent restaurants in Clifden from mid-price to expensive. Great coffee and snacks available at very reasonable prices. Good shopping and excellent craft/art/souvenir shops in the town. Beautiful Church with small but sincere congregation. Lovely clean town, adequate parking available.

There is so much to see.
There is so much to see. I'm a walker and we were able to access many great walks - mountain, sea and forest walks. We had a car to get to locations. Good location for exploring Connemara. Fabulous scenery. Plenty places to eat in the evenings.

A beautiful area in the National Park.
A beautiful area in the National Park. The little town centre was quite vibrant for such a remote area and lots of independent cafes and shops It was possible to do manageable walks (even for us oldies)

Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Cliftden was great with plenty of places to eat and drink. There is a very well stocked supermarket in the town and the surroundings were very clean and well maintained. Getting a local taxi was a bit of a problem so we had to drive everywhere, which didn't allow us to have a drink in the town as our accommadation was about 3 miles outside the village.
Honestly I was so impressed by this place. Well proportioned and beautifully styled rooms, lovely common spaces, and ridiculously comfortable beds. Did not expect to have a stay as half as good as this while driving down the West coast, nevermind for as reasonable a price as it was.
Room had extra pillows/towels already stocked if they were needed, and a Nespresso machine and well stocked box of teas/coffees.
Clifden itself was a highlight of our road trip and the hotel is very well positioned to explore the town.
We loved everything about the property. It was clean, warm, so well equipped with lovely additional touches such as fresh bread and cake.
It was a 5 minute walk to the beautiful village of Clifden.
we stayed 3 nights in the apartment at Buttermilk Lodge as part of a2 week tour of Ireland. The rest of the time we stayed in hotels and honestly, the apartment was our favourite place of the holiday.
ps a big thank you for the post that was waiting when we retuned home
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It has been just refurbished and has every amenity, all of which are brand new. The bedrooms and beds are cozy and very comfortable. The location is great, just outside clifden. Excellent and responsive communication with the owner. We cannot say enough good things about this property. Wish we could have stayed longer. Book several days or more. You won’t be disappointed.
My wife and I were in Ireland for 11 days, each day a different lodging. Ardagh was by far the best of the lot. I know the rating only goes to 10, but this place is in a league of its own....a 20 as far as I am concerned. Friendly staff, wonderful location, great breakfast, clean. Sadly we did not get to eat dinner as we had other commitments.
Perfect accommodation located a short walk outside of Clifden town. The house has everything you need with spacious comfortable rooms. The walk to Clifden has street lighting and footpaths the whole way into town. We stayed for the connamarathon. We were able to get the bus to the start line a short walk from the house.
What a lovely place to stay. It was only for one night and we wished we could have stayed longer. It was warm and spacious. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped. The fresh flowers was a lovely touch. It’s about 10 minutes drive from the gorgeous town of Clifden. This is such a beautiful part of Ireland.
Very nice lady in reception :) kind with big smile, melted our hearts.Very clean, better then some of hotels in galway city.Very quiet, relax place.Best beaches in Ireland only 10-20min to drive away.Tow centre few min to walk,Aldi,Lild, fast food. Will come back again for more nites.
Very very roomy, comfortable king size bed, quiet, price very reasonable. No breakfast but coupon given for €10 breakfast at downtown hotel which we used and was very good. Front desk person gave good advice to our questions. On edge of town but 1 km walk to the Station bar.
Really enjoyed our 1 night stay at this beautiful house!Rooms are very clean, cosy and comfortable with a great view. Breakfast was excellent with best scrambled eggs in Ireland :) The owner are very welcoming, kindly and helpful. Best place to stay in Clifden.
Loved this hotel and will return. The staff were all so friendly. Breakfast was all served to the table and was lovely and fresh. We had dinner in the bar which was delicious. Clifden is a beautiful town and the Station House is an ideal place to stay.
Everything about this place was great, from the location and the design of the place to the people working there. We had the best evening in Clifden and an even better breakfast at the hotel on the next morning.
Nothing - The owner was extremely difficult and non accommodating. We had to book another hotel for the night because all the amenities were unavailable. I'm honestly baffled at how this hotel has good reviews.
This is the second time I have stayed at Ardagh Hotel. The hotel has everything you need, is in a fantastic location and best of all is the staff's attention to detail. The food was also superb.
Brilliant location in the heart of Clifden. Room was great with separate bedroom and living area. Very quiet in the evening despite Ireland playing off in rugby World Cup.
Location was great. Townhouse is well furnished and excellent. Good place to come and stay a week. If you don't plan to cook, a b&b or hotel may be better.
