A luxury, purpose-built resort along the Algarve region coastline offering a variety of accommodation ranging from 5-star hotels to villas and apartments, Vilamoura is the largest complex of its type in Europe. It is conveniently located, 16 km from Albufeira and 25 km from Faro Airport.
Its heart and soul lies around the exclusive Marina, while the 20 square kilometre development is flanked by a Golf Academy and 6 Golf Courses. It also includes a casino and a variety of sports facilities, comprising a diving club and a large, sandy beach. Although the area was developed from scratch by the Porto banker Cupertino de Miranda in 1974, its origins date back to Roman times. The Cerro da Vila Museum tells the story of the ancient fishing town, and displays the ruins of the Roman baths from the 1st century.

Wonderful restaurants! Delicious food and lovely ambiance in all places visited, especially in the area behind the Marina. Favourite restaurants included The Fish Shack, Don Alfonso, Retino, Nija, Sal & Fozo. Steak, lamb and fish dishes all delicious and of course Monkfish Cataplaner. Local beaches all well cared for. Loved the Marina, to sit outside and people and boat watch, peaceful and scenic

I have been going to Vilamoura for several years mainly due to the location only 25 minutes from Faro airport and close to the beach, bars and restaurants. Love Vilamoura so much to see and do.
Love Vilamoura so much to see and do. The Old Village was amazing. All facilities included even several pools. Some enclosed and we had one just up 5 steps from where we were staying. Plenty of choices for food and entertainment.

Beautiful place, fantastic food.
Beautiful place, fantastic food. Lots of trips you are able to book when you're there like parasailing, fishing, jet skiing, dolphin watching, visit the caves, there's a waterpark nearby, beaches are beautiful and clean. There are a few bars 5mins away .Graces bar great breakfast .had a great meal in the evening there. The room was great, a minutes walk from the hotel and they left us a lovely surprise as it was our anniversary! As it was out of season, it wasn't too busy but still a bit too cold to use the outdoor pool! The indoor pool was very clean and lovely and warm! The breakfast selection was great, plenty to choose from and service was good! It's about a 5mins taxi ride from the centre and 20-30mins in taxi to the airport so handy enough!

The location was ideal with no problems getting an Uber or a Taxi into the marina at night for dinner. It was also a lovely walk to the Marina in the mornings. The host was very responsive . We loved the area , the property and will be back in 2025 .

Location gives you the option of going to the marina snd more touristic area as well as to go to the other side where there is more local life. The sea is 3 mins walking. Swimming pool not heated in October but for our kids it didn’t matter that much, they had a great time.

To go to the Marina in Vilamoura, we could use complimentary Tuk-Tuk ride which was fun for the kids. The hotel was lovely. We will definitely come back.
