The 2nd-largest city in the Portugal region of Algarve after Faro, Portimão is best known for its beach resorts, sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and ochre cliffs. It offers a variety of shopping malls, restaurants, discos and bars. Don’t miss the fresh grilled sardines, a typical local dish.

Portimao was a pleasant town to stay in. It's biggest draw is the beach, shopping/restaurants and doing a trip to the Benagil Caves. There is a cute little "train" ride that you can take as well. I feel like there could be a lot more that could be done promotion wise. Maybe some sight seeing tour booths along the main avenue. We came into town by train and used Bolt to get around. Easy to use!

There is a lovely boardwalk with a fabulous beach .
There is a lovely boardwalk with a fabulous beach . There are lots of places to eat along the way. Not suitable for someone with a disability as there are lots of steps to navigate to get down to the beach . I ate in a different restaurant every night. The food was good and not too dear. There are lots of little shops to peruse and people are very friendly. I would reiterate that the steps down to beach are not suitablle for someone with mobility issues

Portimao and surrounding area full of interesting places to visit, boat trip to Silves very good. Did trains to Lagos and Lisbon which where good.
Night time Portimao was very quiet, Pria Da Rocha is the place to go, good number of restaurants and bars to choose from, some with bands on.

The location for the race circuit was perfect.
The location for the race circuit was perfect. Nice neighborhood and fairly quiet. Be careful of stray dogs or dogs in other properties if walking around. Security of the gates is good, however the windows (most) don't lock. The kitchen utensils are basic and the kitchen itself. The shower heads are loose and hard to control. Lighting outside wasn't working and bbq was basic. There is a bus stop at the end of the road about 200 mtrs.

The beach was great and there were plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. There is a bus from the beach area to the central square but then you have to walk a short way to the train station. Having a train from the beach to the train station would be excellent.

Beautiful place with beautiful people and wonderful...
Beautiful place with beautiful people and wonderful nightlife and beaches all in all, just be weary of the local drug dealers on the main strip they are highly irritating and can be pushy if you don’t interact with them they leave you alone
It is well located in Praia da Rocha beach in Portimao. we went in a winter season so not all restaurants are open. But if it’s summer, it will be crowded so you may be annoyed by live entertainment. It didn’t bother us at all. The apartment is a bit old but you can use the kitchen, washing machine, bathroom is clean. I like that it is spacious so people with big luggages can spread and open their bags at the same time.
The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to check-in 2 hrs earlier than the usual.
A spacious, clean and modern hotel which was ideal for a family holiday. Close to the beach and within walking distance of the main resort area. Rooms are very comfortable with great facilities and sizeable bathrooms.
A good buffet breakfast served each morning, although very limited selection of items so it did become repetitive.
We also had a spacious balcony with a sea view, and a top floor room which was quiet and peaceful during the evenings, ideal for a relaxing family holiday.
The colourful design of the appartement makes you immediately feel that you have arrived to Portugal! :) The place is super clean and has all the amenities for both shorter and longer stay (fully equipped kitchen). The location is good for discovering the historical city center, and the beaches and even Ferragudo can be easily reached. The hosts react to messages quickly should there be any question or concern. Very welcoming and wonderful experience!
This hotel is really nice. While looking for a place to stay I am very picky. I’ve found this hotel and I am very happy about it. It was near the beach (the beach super lovely, huge), the bed and bathroom were clean. The price for this hotel was very cheap. Huge plus for a breakfast in the morning. It is very affordable hotel - when you don’t want to spend a lot of money but still want to be near the beach and have clean room and free breakfast.
The hotel was clean, staff- nice and friendly. The breakfast was decent ( nothing extra but expected for this price range. I wish the coffee's quality would be better but it is not big deal). Great location -2 min to the beach, the pool was open 9 to 7. Soundproofed walls made our stay comfortable and peaceful. Modern type safe, electric kettle, a full set of grooming products ( cleanser/shampoo/body lotion/soap/shower cap), blow dryer.
The Algarve Casino Hotel has direct access to the stunning beach (via a stairway). It is spotlessly clean. Some may find the decor dated, but we found that it retro and with its own charm. The personnel are courteous and friendly. We would give special thanks to Nuno on reception and Ricardo, Ana, Olga & Viktor for their excellent service in the bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will definitely be back.
I loved how the communication was very effective. I was even offered transport from the airport to the apartment. Liza was very friendly and caring, probably one of the best hosts I have come across since using booking.com I will definitely book again when i come back to portugal. The apartment view was beautiful I must say i was quite surprised because you can watch the sunset from the 10th floor.
This hotel offers great value for your money. You get a whole apartment for the price of one room in most other places. The apartments are clean, comfortable and equipped with AC in each room. They have a good amount of parking in front of the hotel free of charge.
The staff are friendly and professional. We stay in this hotel every time we are in Portimão.
Staff was very friendly and kind. The location is a good spot and pleasing. About a 20 minute walk to the beach or 5-10 minute drive to the beach. AC in the room. There is a shared refrigerator and you can hang your wet clothing upstairs (top roof). There is parking reserved at the front of the hotel and side shoulder.
Great hotel with great location. The breakfast buffet was great and the food was very fresh. Suitable for vegan and vegetarian. The only thing missing were the pastéis de nata (we only had them one day). The room was very big, the beds were comfortable.
Fantastic breakfast, eggs cooked freshly for you, huge selection of everything and constantly being topped up, hotel is set in a really peaceful location on the marina and buggy transport is available all day to bring you to the beach area
Very nice and clean hotel. We stayed there 2nights and want to say longer. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast has variety of choices. Definitely will come here again if I visit Portimao next time.
I have not visited Portugal before and will certainly return as my stay at VilaRosa was
wonderful. The hotel is tip top: Cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail with
courteous and helpful staff.
The hotel once was chic enough, but time passes.the apartment is spacey and when we couldn't turn the shower on, the staff member changed our apartment and immediately asked for a plumber to fix it
Cosy, nicely decorated and spacious house! Fully equiped and sparkling clean, in an excellent location! Highly recommended for an enjoyable stay at Portimão! Hosts super attentive!
Beyond our expectation. Hidden jewel in the Algarve. Best breakfast ever in Portugal for the price in low season. Very clean, polite staff and beachfront location. 10/10
Very clean! Modern! Top service. Wine bottle on entrance. Best hospitality in portugal still and I’ve been there more than 10x .
Lovely place , lovely host 💯
