Amazing authentic african ‘hotel’ with super atmosphere! The owner says himself it’s not a hotel, but a home. And it’s easy to see why. Bwejuu is set on a beautiful beach north of Paje.

Bwejuu is set on a beautiful beach north of Paje. There’s a lot to do in the area (caves, forests , spice farms, Rock restaurant) and lots of bars and restaurants however you’ll need transportation to access them. We travelled around the entire island in an hire car which I would highly recommend, was great fun and easy to find our way around. I would say this area is more dirty and littered which is a shame as the rest of the country is really well kept.

We were a family of 10 people.

We were a family of 10 people. I did not expect to walk in sand all over the place. The foliage kept it a little cooler. The pool was fine and clean. I did not expect no air conditioning and trying to stay cool with a standing room fan. Food was Ok - nothing special. The drive from the airport after dark was dangerous. The walk to the beach was short. A few restaurants were open down the beach. We moved to another resort just down the street after one night and had clean rooms, air conditioning, on the beach, great meals. We kept our keys because they said we could not get a refund for the 2nd and 3rd nights we had reserved. They said we could come back and use the pool but did rent out our rooms from the 2nd & 3rd nights. It was more like a hostel but was not advertised well on Booking.com

Bwejuu is a small village with two shops where you can buy groceries and cosmetics. There is public transport there. In the vicinity is bigger village of Paje where there are more restaurants and shops. The beach is absolutely beautiful - white sand, wide a very long (excellent for walks and looking for shells), few people there. The best restaurants are Shanti café and Sahari. You can hire kite board there and teacher for kite boarding. 8 km from Bwejuu is beautiful place where you can watch sunset and enjoy big bar with excellent drinks and good music for dancing.

    Bwejuu has a great beach.

Bwejuu has a great beach. It is relatively quiet with only a few people working the beach to sell tours etc. We met some friendly locals and joined in some birthday celebrations, which was fun. Best be aware that there is a big tide so you can’t swim all the time. When the tide is in, the water is shallow and very warm. In the evenings there is a warm breeze that is refreshing and keeps the mosquitoes away.

    Bwejuu area is very disappointing.

Bwejuu area is very disappointing. It has a beach that cannot be enjoyed, far from everywhere, much more expensive than Nungwi and much lower quality. It is a complete mess. I don’t understand why Paje and Bwejuu area are so famous

If you are coming to Zanzibar for a serene peaceful experience in which time stops then Sahari is the right place for you! The staff was so friendly, we come from Dubai and we know what is a world class service, but this was on another level! We loved the fact that we were not pushed into spending more than what we were comfortable with. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to help us find proper water shoes, snorkel gear and even an iphone charger my wife forgot. I highly recommend this boutique hotel to everyone!

Loved everything about the hotel - the young couple who owned hotel, they are so nice and welcoming. Staff are very attentive. Great beach with white sand. After 8 days of Kilimanjaro trek, this is truly paradise. There was complementary boat trip to snorkel and swim; I was lucky to observe professional coconut harvesting which happens every two weeks, then taste the fresh coconut water and flesh. We flew in early in the am from Kilimanjaro and we were surprised to find our room was ready!! So flexible and accommodating.

This resort is awesome! You feel like you are in paradise. Everything was amazing, from the staff to food. The staff is so kind and welcoming, they want to please the customer. Breakfast is great and delicious, many options to choose. Rooms are designed with the taste, rooms also have balconies. Location is great, Bwejuu is a calm place where you can chill, not many resorts around. Hotel is beachfront. This hotel is the best one that we have been in Zanzibar! I would definetely choose it again.

We spent two wonderful weeks at Kijani with our young children. Everything was perfect: beautiful design and views, a « desert island » feel on the beach, a stunning swimming pool with a very nice shallow area for kids. There is plenty of space so even if the hotel was fully booked it was always quiet and pleasant. The lovely staff made us feel at home. We 100% recommend it (it’s even more beautiful than on the pictures) and we will be back one day for sure!

I had a lovely stay at Sanja's apartment. This house is located on beachfront within true local environment. Everything was sparkly clean and equipped with everything you need with very nice garden full with tropical plants and beautifully painted walls made by local artist. And Sanja was a perfect host with many local and useful tips on Zanzibar. Many thanks Sanja for everything and I will definitely book your apartment again.

Due to the Italian owner the quality of food, beverage and even the solid rooms and bath equipment is exceptional for Zanzibar. The chef and all staff are well educated to serve customer oriented. It's a quit and relativly small hotel with relaxing and familiar atmosphere. Ideal for couples in honey moon. No tourism overloading.
