I spent only one day/night in Daegu and I wish so badly that I stayed longer! City is very well connected; I traveled from Busan with a train (45min) and then took a flight from Daegu to Jeju Island (1,5hr), both were very easily manageable. I wish I had more time here because the city was beautiful. It was very clean, new looking, the historic buildings/places looked well taken care of and most importantly, the PEOPLE! I traveled solo and I've been to 9 different cities in Korea and I feel like people here were the kindest. I don't expect anyone to help me with a suitcase, find the right bus stop etc, but people here just offered their help without me asking. It felt very nice as I haven't experienced this in other cities unless I asked for help. In general, people in Korea were extremely friendly and accommodating but I could definitely feel a difference between Seoul and Daegu for example.
There seems to be a lot to do from museums, galleries, shopping to parks and hiking; and the city is somewhat walkable, but in general, I find the buses in Korea very reliable and easy to use. There is also a metro which I haven't used but it's going across the whole city.
If you do not speak Korean or do not read Hangul, I wouldn't stress as it seemed like everyone in Daegu (regardless of their age) spoke English very well.
I didn't get a chance to try lot of local food options as I am vegetarian, which was a struggle in Korea sometimes, however there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan places here.
I will definitely spend more time in Daegu next time I visit Korea as I fell in love!

I was charged double for my stay.
I was charged double for my stay. Both charges were made on my credit card in advance of my arrival. Booking.com indicated that my credit card was added to the booking simply to hold the room in advance. I reserved the rooms for myself and 2 colleagues anticipating that my colleagues would be able to pay for themselves for their portion of the bill once we arrived. Now I have a big mess to fix at work Reimbursements for this visit will be comlicated and depend on the honestly of my colleagues whose rooms were charged to my visa card. I'm really disappointed that the hotel insisted on charging my card not only before our arrival, but TWICE before our arrival. I don't know why this booking has completely disappeared from my account in Booking.com either. So there seems to be no way now for me to contact the hotel owner/manager about this problem (of double charges). I will never use this site or this hostel again.

It's a provincial city and as such is less exposed to foreign interaction. The people are very accommodating and understanding of this.
The parks and riverside walks are breathtaking. The temples are profound.

The business owners we met really cared and converse easily about a wide range of topics so we felt welcomed. The quality and price of the goods was excellent. Public transport was convenient and fast, we went to the temple 50 kms away by bus and it was a short jaunt to Busan by train. We liked the museums and historical artifacts in the parks. The markets were eye candy.

We went to Daegu to see the red maple leaves and yellow ginkgo leaves. We found The Keimyung University (KMU), Daegu a very good site for seeing these autumn leaves, especially when these trees were growing by the side of the beautiful buildings of the university. It is also very convenient to get there since it is right by the side of a subway station.
We also went to Palgongsan, where the scenery with the autumn leaves was also amazing.
The location - if you find your way, it is really near Dongdaegu station. There is an elevator you can take from the part of the station which is the to Shinshigae mall. There’s unlimited water and foods (ramen, bread, even ice cream 😁). The receptionists don’t speak much English but it’s fine. It’s a love hotel but some guests who wants to find a place near the railway station find this place as a practical option.
The hotel is a little far from the center of Daegu, but this depends on your intention for tourism in the city. The hotel is great, large and comfortable room, clean and with lots of amenities. Fair price, free parking and breakfast included in the rate. We intend to return to enjoy more of the local region, which surprised us in terms of its cleanliness and leisure options.
Nice place, one if the few daegu properties actually on booking. Room was comfy, not too big but after our tiny-room experience in Seoul it felt massive! No breakfast possible, they have a rooftop restaurant but it was closed permanently when we were there (april 23).
Close to the nr 1 metro line. Plenty of restaurants around.
I spent only one night here but the hotel was very comfortable and in an amazing area! I traveled solo and I felt very safe and the staff were very friendly and helpful when organizing taxi or helping with directions. I didn't have time to have breakfast in the morning but the restaurant looked like it had lot of options.
The beds were so comfortable and the bedding was soft, like something you would find at home. The pillows were also soft. The bathrooms were clean and had everything you need to get clean. The owner of the hotel lived in Canada for a long time, so she is fluent in English. Very friendly. Highly recommend this place.
Have stayed here before, and enjoyed the overall ambience of the hotel. Nicely finished, and very modern. Breakfast buffet was very good. Doormen were helpful getting taxis for us. Overall, a good place to stay especially on business or in the unlikely event youre having a holiday in Daegu
The staff were great. Super friendly and super helpful and a real credit to the hotel. Rooms were cleaned regularly. Walking distance to the local station and some shops so could eat and sightsee despite language barriers. The complimentary water was great and so was the roof terrace.
The owner is really friendly. The room is really cute, small but its enough for solo travelers. the position of the hotel is really convenient, closed to everything, 6mins walking only to Banwoldang station, 7 mins walking to Jungangno station.
The hotel is in walking distance to Kyungpook National University (KNU). At check-in we were given a plastic pouch containing items such as condoms and "feminine cleanser". Water bottles, soft drinks, and crackers are provided in the fridge.
I liked how easy it was to park. Not all hotels have nice wide parking lots like this one. Checkin was also suitably simple and quick, the rooms were clean and comfy, and breakfast was plenty.
This hotel is right in the downtown area, very clean, easy to check in and out, a smoking area and rooms are super clean. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to travel to Daegu.
