In addition to the location, our stay at the Ververitsa was fantastic. The owners were exceptionally kind and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Our room was very clean, with daily housekeeping services maintaining its pristine condition. We were impressed by the continuous replenishment of food and drinks, making our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, our experience was wonderful, combining the beauty of the surroundings with top-notch hospitality.

A family hotel in a lovely village,
A family hotel in a lovely village, in my opinion the most worthwhile place in Zagoria. We stayed at the hotel for four nights; Sofia and her two sons, Christos and Theodore were charming, made us feel at home. Spacious rooms, excellent service, generous breakfast. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant with a selection of excellent and delicious dishes. And most importantly, it's their humanity and caring. warmly recommended!AAnonymousIsrael - 10Scored 10
Unforgettable 5 days in Monodendri.
Unforgettable 5 days in Monodendri. On first day, we had a hike from the Village of Vicos, which is a few kilometers down from Monodendri, to the villages of Koukouli and Kipoi, over beautiful stone bridges. The next day we hiked to Lake Drakolimni. On the third day, we visited the Voidomatis River and the beautiful villages of Papingo and Mikro Papingo, and bathed in natural stone baths. Monodendri is an excellent choice for a base if you are visiting Zagori. Village is small and calm, tavernas with excellent food. Monodendri is located in central Zagori. A couple of interesting places to visit nearby: Monastery of Agia Paraskevi (at the outskirts of the village accessible on foot), and Stone Forest ( >1-hour hiking or 20 min drive). Proximity to Papigo and Aristi (starting point for rafting at Voidomatis River). Short-distance drives to visit characteristic stone arch bridges in the area.

A beautiful and well preserved village, in an area of great natural beauty. The village has some nice restaurants and coffee shops, while the Rizarios Foundation organises interesting exhibitions. It is a good starting point for exploring the area, especially if you have a car with you. Walks from the village to the viewing point or down to the river are very good as well. Main thing: if you want to walk to the viewing point first find the old square with the platanos tree, the trail starts there and is also marked from the square (blue trail). It is also a good spot to leave your car and start a hiking holiday. It is not as romantic but cheaper than Papingo. We also loved the restaurant opposite the hotel (Dionysos restaurant), where we felt at home very quickly and where the offer good local food at reasonable prices.

Monodendri is a very nice village in the heart of Zagorochoria. There are a couple of very nice taverns in the central square of the village with nice food. Close to the central square also start two hiking trails: the one that crosses the Vikos Gorge and the trail to the neighboring village of Vitsa. On the main road there is a coffeeshop that serves great coffee.

It’s a family owned hotel and one can really feel all the effort and love they put in this hotel. We have a small baby and they always asked to ensure we had everything we needed to be comfortable with the little one. The location was perfect as it’s close to many hiking routes in the region. The room is large (and so is the bathroom) and has some interesting character to it. And the breakfast is massive in size and variety. And we loved the owner Vaso. The trailhead for the Vikos Gorge is almost at your door. Another highly recommended hike is a walk to the villages of Vitsa, Koukouli and Kipi. We had a charming traditional room with a balcony, furhished with taste, very comfortable. Excellent buffet breakfast, a power boost to start an activity-packed day.
