We liked everything. This is a new modern stylish hotel, situated on top of a hill near lake Toya. Rooms are very big as well as the bathroom. Feels like a real treat. Everything is new and thought of. The beds were super comfy beyond what we are used to in Japan.
Our room was facing the lake so we had a spectacular view and could see the nightly fireworks from the room as the wall facing the lake was actually a window.
Definitely recommend!

Location is right next to the lake. One of the on-site onsen (Hoshi no yu) overlooks the lake. The interior has been renovated in the recent years so it does feel modern and sleek. The room I went for was rather spacious and the beds were comfortable.

Breakfast is buffet style, foods are ok
But I paid for the dinner in Japanese style. But the foods are not good.
I can eat better outside and paid less.

Toya was so beautiful.
Toya was so beautiful. The best kind of countryside you can ask for. We went to the toya hill farm which was so good for people watching. Oh but please drive, the public transport was so frustrating. We had to walk 24mins to the next busstop and the buses take so long to come

Didn’t like it in late February.
Didn’t like it in late February. The only thing to do is go to the onsen, some of the hotels will grant you access for a small fee if you’re not staying there.
There is a boat tour (looks like a princess castle, sort of weird), pricey and so so boring, they don’t even go all around the lake and it doesn’t stop for you to step on the islands.
Overall, very sad town in February.

Taking a slow stroll along the lakeside with cooling breeze blowing towards you is refreshing and makes you feel so free.
A must visit to Mount Usu taking the cable car and walking along the Ropeway is scenic.
A short drive of about 10 minutes from Lake Toya there is a Little Farm that serves very good ice cream, coffee and pizza. Children loves the goats in this farm land.

Beautiful and scenic but you are not allowed to swim in the lake because it is a Unesco site. I was unable to Google this info so I'm sharing it here. It is 90 degrees here today so that sucks. They don't mind you dipping your feet but there are no swimming beaches. You can get wet if you are boating or on SUPboard. I probably would’ve toured another part of the country if I knew I couldn’t swim in the lake in the middle of an extremely hot summer. the south of like Toya is filled with Asian tourists. We enjoyed the quiet north side.

Exceptional room to wake up in every morning, with a full view of Lake Toya. Soaking in the hot bath in the room and enjoying the fireworks nightly is indeed a pleasure. Service staff are helpful and polite, and the meals are sumptuous. Indeed a memorable experience.
The owner was waiting for us at the exact time we told him we'll arrive. We got sweets and discount tickets to onsen. I was amazed by that onsen hotel, Infinity rooftop pool, it was fantastic. We had a car, the lake and shops are in a 3 min drive. The hotel is quite old, but everything was good. Clean bed sheets, warm, bright, no smoke smell in the room, silent at night. We were travelling with a 1 year-old toddler, it was safe for her too. There is a loft in the room, we did not use it.
The view over Lake Toya from the outdoor onsen on rooftop was almost surreal. I had a full moon, and the reflection in the lake at nighttime was so incredibly beautiful. Magical atmosphere, Lots of good sightseeing options around Lake Toya. Such as ropeway to a mountain top with a an active crater caldera lake. I had a cheaper mealplan with buffet in the main building, but the quality and choice there was amazing! Would highly recommend to come by rental car.
Amazing hotel, super stylish. Huge rooms, all with own rotenburo on the balcony and lake view,too.. In addition a fantastic onsen & rotenburo for all guests. Tattoo friendly, too 😀
Staff was super nice plus they have free shuttle service from/ to JR station. Also they shuttle guests to the fireworks section in Toyako Onsen.
The food was exceptional.
We enjoyed every minute in this hotel.
House has everything you need. Very spacious with big Tv and sofa. Comes with fully equip kitchen.
Had washing machine, though there is no dryer machine, it has an automated clothes rack and a clothes heater/warmer for you to dry the clothes naturally.
Drive and park right in front of house.
There is a nice onsen just abt 3-4 mins walk from the house.
Enjoy the stay very much.
Lake Toya view from our room was spectacular especially in the morning. There was more than enough space in our room although the room was quite old. Dinner was wonderful with wide variety of selections and they were all delicious. Breakfast was also superb. Nonetheless, Onsen was very relaxing, bathing and taking up the view of Lake Toya at the same time were worth the visit.
The resort was amazing! Staff were very attentive and kind, I was really happy that they accommodated my request for the meals. Attentive to details & the service was top.
The room was excellent, clean, spacious and has everything you need. View is amazing and outdoor onsen was very relaxing 😄.
Outdoor Onsen was one of the most amazing and incredible experiences of our lives -- its gorgeous!! We were lucky enough also to use it while it was snowing outside -- a truly delightful experience. And the views from this place are to DIE for. Amazing.
We had the property to ourselves which was a great help. The owner gave us vouchers for a discounted onsen and because one of us was resident in Japan they were able to include us in the Hokkaido voucher scheme to encourage internal tourism
Felt very welcomed before I even stepped into the hotel as the staff were there outside to guide you to the reception. Onsen was amazing with great views. Food was great too. Definitely my most comfortable stay in my trip
The location is the best of this hotel, right next to the lake, a convenient store right across the street. Onsen is also not bed but it's more like a regular big bathroom, don't expect too much.
Traditional Japanese style hotel, very clean and comfortable. Onsen area excellent with lot of amenities, creams for face, hair care….
Room very silent, warm and with nice views to Toya Lake.
One of the best choices for a great Lake Toya view and fireworks. The facility is clean, has good onsen, a free car park and is quite near to a pharmacy, convenience store and bus station.
Best of all is free shuttle bus to Sapporo.
The second best is outdoor onsen with fabulous view. I love it.
The staffs are also the best. Informative and very friendly.
Staff, meals, the excellent onsen, sauna and ice bath and the location. We loved it and the happy hour sake and snacks were a lovely touch in the relaxing lounge area.
- great location, good view, next to convenient store, drugstore and restaurants
- big onsen has the best view of sunset
- staffs are friendly and helpful
