Wonderful and relaxing place to visit, but a car is a requirement! Will definitely return to Ferragudo! The Benagil grotto and dolphin boat tour is a must! Visit: Sagres, Selema, Burgau, Tavira, Monchique. A delightful server at Algar Seco made several culture and dining recommendations, including O Charneco - definitely dine here, but an Uber might work better if you are going to drink or the narrow roads make you nervous!

Ferragudo is a little gem of a traditional fishing town.
Backstreets with family run cafes, restaurants, bars but nothing too over crowded.
The town square is the central hub day and night but quieter off street restaurants also available so best of both.
The beach is wide, clean and interesting to watch the fishing boats coming and going.

Ferragudo is a pretty fishing village on the Algave.
Ferragudo is a pretty fishing village on the Algave. It has 2 lovely beaches, the Praia Grande has a handful of bars and restaurants and sun loungers for hire but does not feel particularly crowded, its a great sandy beach for kids with safe, swimming water and pedalos for hire. The town has some lovely restaurants and is very pretty and typically Portuguese with winding streets and colourful houses. I would suggest its not ideal for parents with small children as there are a lot of steps which could be a challenge with a buggy.

Ferragudo has retained its charm as a fishing village, despite being a popular destination for tourists.
Views accross the bay are beautiful.
There are several good restaurants to choose from, including the quayside fish -grilling ones, in addition to the option of dining in at Vitor's Village.
There is a large and popular beach close to Ferragudo, (Praia Grande) in addition to smaller cove beaches a little further afield.
There's a cliff walk of about 7Km along to the (larger) village of Carvoiero, which takes around 3 hours and involves some "scrambling" ; like a lot of the local coastal walks it's good to do "one way" and arrange a lift back!

Nice little town as a destination for a morning walk to get a coffee or freshly squeezed orange juice. Lovely town square with good restaurants and friendly waitstaff. Small fresh fruit and vegetable market and fresh fish on the docks. Very nice large beach close to town and several smaller beaches close by. Challenging hiking paths were also close by. We used Ferragudo as our base while we explored all of the Algarve. Parking the car was a problem but that seems to be the case in all of Portugal.

Train station area is terrible, but hotel area is like a different world.
As busses are often late, you can cross the bridge on foot and after 2,5 km you are in Portimao, where is big Shopping center etc.
Beautifully presented and very clean apartment that's well equipped. Roof top terrace was lovely with great views and really enjoyed the hot tub. Location is brilliant as you can walk into the old town of Ferragudo in 5min, yet there's easy parking right outside and it's a short and well connected drive to other locations such as Lagoa, Carvoeiro or Portimao.
Host was great at communicating and very helpful when we had queries. And the complimentary bottle of wine was a very nice touch.
Fully recommend.
Excellent location, right in the centre of Ferragudo. Very spacious property, clean and comfortable. Large kitchen with everything you need but lovely restaurants within walking distance so minimal cooking done. Gorgeous outside space, which is probably fab in warmer weather. Very clear instructions on accessing property & friendly agent. WiFi & TV nice extras but we were out most of our visit exploring.
Casabela is a beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and the pool is lovely. The breakfast was great but there was no vegetarian/vegan option for dinner (unless we pre-booked the vegetarian meal 24 hours before). However everything else was fantastic and it didn’t stop our enjoyment of the hotel as we were able to eat out elsewhere in the evenings. The private path to the beach was lovely.
Very well kept, beautiful facilities, fantastic view.
The hosts treat you so well, kind of like how your parents treated you when home on break from university....before they realized you would be moving back into the basement after graduation. Can't recommend this place highly enough, only worry that all the positive reviews will make it harder to book in the future.
All good, plus to celebrate Valentines Day we wanted to have a little picnic and bottle of wine we bought (not from hotel) in our room. The staff were generous and flexible, provided plates etc, and even uncorked the wine for us! That sort of adaptability made it a very welcoming place to be.
We had a great view of the pool, the included breakfast was really good - lots of options. Location was great, in a quieter town, really close to beautiful beaches and only half hour or so from lagos. Pool bar was really nice. Friendly staff, very helpful.
For those who are in love with Ferragudo in the Algarve, this villa gives you an easy blend of beach, old town, good restaurants and site pool all at your convenience - quietly busy. Transport to other local towns and villages is easy.
house very pretty and modern inside...host was very responsive to trying to fix issues issues with wifi
good location re access to numerous restauants and cafes in Ferragudo and to water taxi service acrross to Portimao
The apartment was clean, comfortable and exactly, like the photos. The view is stunning and the surroundings are beautiful.
The hosts were so kind and left us a very nice gift for our stay.
Lovely apartment in the heart of Ferragudo. Less then 2 minutes away from the main square with loads of bars and restaurants yet on a very quiet street. Will definitely be back!
Vila Castelo Parque is in a great location between Praia Grande beach and the square in Ferragudo, which is the prettiest village in the Algarve. All the staff were so helpful.
The high ceilings and the air conditioner. I liked the courtyard and the staff. Great proximity to the beaches, restaurants, and an awesome sunset spot.
