Everything was beautiful, comfortable and quiet, the house in the middle of tea plantations, almost like a movie. And Siri the administrator was so helpful and servicial, always willing to help with a smile, he prepared some bananas for us for our hiking to Siri Pada, very nice of him. I would back without doubt.

Nice colonial house, refreshing bedroom and modern bathroom.
The service we received from the owner and staff was outstanding. They helped us with all our inquiries and most importantly got us our train tickets to Ella!
Would recommend if you are passing through Hatton. Note that the home is close to day traffic but the night time is very quiet!

Communication was good and hotel even offered free transport from Hatton Station but we came from Kotagala, hence not taken the offer. Staff, especially Kiruban (apologies if misspelled), was very helpful and service was excellent.

We were told to treat the magnificent bungalow as our own home as we arrived and had a drink in the wonderful colonial drawing room. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, the afternoon tea was the best I have had in my life.
We loved the walk around the tea plantations and swimming in the infinity pool

There is nothing to do in Hatton, the city itself is not very interesting. However you can take the scenic train route from Kandy to Hatton and then join the tea plantation tours and hikes and afternoon teas.
Many leeches so beware.
Way colder in temperatue than Minneriya, Dambula, Kandy etc.

Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains.
Hatton is a scenic and beautiful town in the mountains. Gorgeous sceneries anywhere you look. The town has plenty of shops and banks. Pretty convenient to get everything you need. The hotels are run a bit differently to Colombo and Kandy. Not sure how to explain, but things are bit slower. It is great to hike there and search for waterfalls and the nature and beauty is unending. Lovely local people, friendly and kind. The temperature is seriously pleasant without the humidity. Even the tea plants love it.

lovely area - i would have liked to stay longer and do Adam's Peak . I enjoyed walking through the tea plantations and seeing the factory - and there were other hikes to do that we didn't have the time to do. Also, it is not too far from Kitulgala which is also a great place to go. we rafted there and loved it - and there is also a lovely rain forest there that we did not have the time to explore.

The Hatton area is the centre of Sri Lanka's tea industry and has a cool moderate climate. The area around Hatton and especially Castlereigh Lake is spectacular, with beautiful tea plantations waterfalls and stunning vistas. It is at an elevation of 3,000 meters so pack warm clothes as well as t-shirts as the weather is changeable. As a result of decades of British colonialism the region is dotted with fantastic Bungalows and the locals will speak English. If you can, try and arrive via train (use the second class tickets, first class is aircon and too cold with non-opening windows) from either Kandy or Nanu-Oya (Nuwara Eliya) its one of the most scenic train journeys in the world.

Hatton is the gateway to Sri Paada pilgrimage for the travellers from Colombo or specially the tourists. The town is small, packed but friendly and could have been lot more planned, cleaned and visitor friendly.
The house is large, plenty of space to feel at home. Comfortable bed, large towels, hot water - I even had a bath!
It is on the edge of Hatton looking out over a tea plantation. We had the most wonderful day out with Latchman as our guide to take us to Adam’s Peak and a swim in Gartmore Falls, followed by a BBQ dinner and beer (he kindly stopped so we could pick some up).
Food lovely and the team go above and beyond to make sure you are looked after. Thanks also to Kirosha and the 2 gentleman. We are very happy with our stay.
There are just amazing, the kindest, most helpful, loving and carrying Family we have met in our entire time in Sri Lanka. We got picked up at the Train Station from Saman and he also took us with his Tuk Tuk for a few excursions the next days. Semila is a wonderful host, she cooks so good, our daugther was super happy with the food and you get so much. The price value is just amazing and I would recommend this Homestay to everyone travelling to Hatton. I wish them all the best in the world and many amazing & kind guests
The staff, especially the manager in charge, went above and beyond to make us happy. Everybody was welcoming and happy to serve.
The view is unparalleled. The location is great, you can stroll around tea plantations or walk on gravel roads to villages with Hindu and Buddhist temples.
Another big advantage is the walking distance to Argyle hotel, where you can have a gourmet lunch or dinner for a very reasonable price.
There's a tiny gym (no weights) with incredible view on the rolling hills.
The accommodation was beter than we could wish for.
We are backpackers, on a budget, we stayed here to go the next day to Adam’s peak. We took the big room with the mezzanine and it was just what we needed!
The host was very friendly, they even arrange free transportation to the hotel if needed. The staff were very friendly, even tho we are not the easiest to please.
The room was a bit cold, but on demand you can receive a heater.
And above all that, the room was not overpriced!
The view from the property is absolutely amazing, the restaurants, bar and lounges are classy and the poolside area is so scenic. rooms are spacious, everything you need is there.. Simply a beautiful place. Jana, from property is a gem of a person helped us arrange our whole trip, upgraded us to half board and we enjoyed a delicious 5 course meal on them. they also packed breakfast for us at 4 am. overall, it was best and I’m sad I didn’t have the time to use their spa features..
The team of Mr. Janarthan was extremely polite and kind, satisfying all spoken and unspoken wishes of their guests. The hotel is situated in a beautiful area, with breath-taking views. The room was very spacious and convenient. Every day some treat was left in the room - either fruits or sweets. The food in the restaurant is very tasty. There is a nice spa - Geetha, thank you for the nice and relaxing time.
We only stayed one day at Tea Hills , we came from Kandy by train, the hotel offered to pick us up which we really appreciated , as we where a bit later we didn’t want to go into the city so we asked the property if we could have dinner their which they provided , the rooms are large and very comfortable, the staff is very helpful and friendly, we had coconut rotti for breakfast which was very enjoyable
Beautiful scenic mountain view from the balcony, Walking distance from Hatton town, room was very clean with comfortable beds and clean bathroom. The landlord, Rishard was very hospitable and helpful. He arranged our tour to Adams peak and other attractions around the area. We also enjoyed a nice breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at Whitehouse Bungalow.
The family who runs this homestay is very nice.
They are always smiling and very polite.
I can definitly recommend this place for people who want to stay in Hatton!
When it comes to the location it is very good. Calm and peaceful area.
It only takes five minutes by walking to the railway station.
Most beautiful place: 360 view over the rice fields. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautiful. Hatton is a very nice area for tea tours / hiking through the fields. We got a nice tea tour recommended by the host. We were welcomed by the most friendly host and the chef was also amazing.
This hotel has amazing potential. The setting is just incredible. The rooms have amazing views overlooking the beautiful lakes and the location is really good. It was just missing a few things that made it not an amazing stay.
Beautiful little place with a nice view. Small outdoor area to chill. Comfortable cozzy indoors. Bathrooms were very nice.. Friendly host, food was amazing😍😍😍 Would definitely go again. Hospitable environment.
Very good hotel in hatton with reasonable prices and very satisfy with the breakfast. This is the best accomodation in this price range in Hatton. The worker all very polite and hospitality.
Beautiful space and great location. Very clean. You also have a balcony and living room shared with the 2-3 other guest rooms. The family is extremely nice.
