Location was perfect for exploring the area around the waterfront. We could walk to ferry
restaurants, churches, fort.
A little crazy to get to in middle of "downtown" area. You have to park in public lot about
3 blocks away. You have to set a clock on your car to show when you got to lot, then you have hours free
parking. But you don't have to pay overnight...a little confusing but we basically never had to pay to park.

Small city, easy to walk around to get to places in the city...
Small city, easy to walk around to get to places in the city, slippery in the winter, terrain is uphill and down hill sometimes but railings are everywhere. Really good restaurants like Aristova and Barbara.A lovely corner cafe and book store called Paname Supermarkets have nearly everything including GF breads.People are very friendly and help you if and when lost.Must visit the red houses!

It’s the town center of Faroe Islands.
It’s the town center of Faroe Islands. A charming town but not much to do. There are some good restaurants but the food was a bit on the pricy side, which is understandable considering they may be imported or flown from other places. Getting around the islands by car is fairly easy. It’s feasible to drive to the sightseeing spots on the map within a day, if no hiking is needed. Don’t miss the Mulafossur!

One of my favorite cities (and I've travelled a lot). It's the biggest city in the Faroe islands, yet the feeling is different compared to any city in other countries. Peacefull, well maintained beautiful city where you can find everything you need .
Lots of restaurants and bars around the harbour area, very easy to find orientate.

Lovely old town, cathedral with pretty garden and turf roves of parliament buildings. Can you find the ancient circle carved into the rock near the water.
Good Tourist Info with loo.
Lovely lunch in cafe set back from Main Street which also sold cheese.
Toasted sourdough sandwich……very nice.
Do visit National Art Gallery near cute wooded park with pond……if you can find it……best to ask!

Torshavn is a lovely place to visit, and the local people...
Torshavn is a lovely place to visit, and the local people are very friendly and helpful. It feels very safe overall, and there is enough of interest to sustain a 3/4 day stay. There are good restaurants (some expensive - depending on what you're used to) and there is good quality food on offer. Getting around is easy, with most of the Town being walkable - with the local "Red" busses being free to use. Exploring beyond Torshavn needs planning. Some bus routes offer a morning departure but can have a late return, with not enough interest for the casual traveller at the destination for more than a couple of hours. Be aware that Shops etc. close at 13:00/14:00 on Saturday, and on Sundays everything is closed (including the local busses, and some of the cafes and restaurants!)
The ferry to Nolsoy is cheap and only 30 minutes. However, if you are NOT hiking there is only 1 shop/cafe (closes Saturday at 13:00) and 1 other cafe (Maggie's was open, friendly and with basic food (chips/burgers/pizza) and worth a stop). For non-hikers there is only an hour/90 minutes of interest, but you may have a several hour wait for the return. Maybe in peak season it's better - I was there end April.
The hotel is conveniently located near town and all the major roads to adventure around the Faroes. The hotel staff was probably some of the nicest people I have ever encountered at a hotel reception. The food was delicious at the hotel restaurant, the beds were comfortable and clean, and I especially loved the separate shower (that was quite large) and toilet closet. I will be staying here again when I return to the Faroe Islands in September!
This hotel is not only nice and cozy but also offers a beautiful view. With ample parking and proximity to the capital yet far enough to enjoy nature, it strikes the perfect balance. The food is delicious, and although we initially planned for just one night, after experiencing the comfort and fair pricing, we decided to make it our base for the entire trip. It's a gem that exceeded our expectations, making our stay even more memorable.
Great location if coming over from Denmark or Iceland on the Smyril Ferry. It was convenient, quiet, and comfortable, and offered free parking right out the front door. But the best part was breakfast. That may be the best breakfast buffet I have had in a hotel in many years. Fresh fruit, yogurt, 2 types of eggs, 3 or 4 kinds of breads. Try the Rhubarb Jam. So yummy!
Great boutique hotel in downtown Torshavn, Faroe Islands. An ideal launching pad to both explore the capital as well as some of the far-away attractions (i.e. James Bond Tour on Kalsoy Island, or the G! Music Festival.) Hospitable, very friendly staff. And a great breakfast spread. Highly recommended!
A charming traditional cottage with beautiful and functional interior design. Kitchen was beautiful and fully kitted and stocked. Hostess Sigrid was very friendly, helpful and communicative --- thanks again for sending our son's hat home by post! Overall, a delightful place to stay in Torshavn.
Staff was outstanding. Friendly, helpful and answered all questions and made suggestions.
Hotel setting was lovely, room small but clean and view could not be beat. Breakfast was delightful. Lots of choices and view from eating area was lovely. We feel choosing the hotel in Torsham
The hotel is very nice and curated in details, and the staff is very kind and helpful.
The location is perfect to go around Torshavn by walking and the breakfast was amazing.
Plus the hotel own some independent restaurants, We tried Katrina Christiansen and the food was very good!
The location is perfect! A few minutes walk to the
centre of Tórshavn. It is in a nice and quit street
located. There is also a shop next to the hotel, so if
you want to get any things for during the day you
can get them there and off you go on an adventure.
If you are looking for a ordinary hotel in Torshavn then Hotel Djurhuus is an ok alternative. The rooms are clean, but the roms are not modern.
The breakfast was just ordinary. The people at the reception was kind. The hotel has a good location in Torshavn.
Great apartment. Clean and modern with a well-equipped kitchen. Great views (weather permitting). Hosts live upstairs and were friendly and responsive. Location is very convenient to explore everywhere in the Faroe Islands. Parking space right outside.
Very scenic and quiet location overlooking Torshavn. Definitely need a hire car to make the most of it. Hotel interior very stylish and modern, lots of communal sitting areas to drink/sit/relax. Large and comfortable rooms.
The apartment is in an ideal location overlooking the water, and is barely a 10 minute walk from the Torshavn Harbor! Big bonus: the curtains blocked out all light, which is necessary in the summer months!
Extremely nice staff, perfectly clean room with super comfortable beds & great room service! Exactly what you want while enjoying the exploration of the amazing Faroe Islands!
