Royal Scenery in a Natural Treasure Chest
Blois beautifully lines the Loire Valley with a sublime combination of nature and architecture. Standing between Orléans and Tours, two other Loire Valley gems, Blois - the most important city of Loir-et-Cher -enjoys its proximity to the agricultural Beauce area and Sologne forest.
Slate tiles and tuffeau stones, a pattern reminiscent of the Loire Valley, are prominent in Blois and the old town is full of charming houses. Blois train station is near the Gothic Renaissance Castle of Blois, considered one of architecture’s masterpieces.
