Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Free breakfast was fair as it offered crackers, cheese, coffee, fruits, hard boiled eggs, cereal, thinly sliced meats. The rooms do not block out sound well at all. We constantly heard our neighbors on both sides of the room.
The hotel is very nice as the staff were super welcoming and made check-in process easy as they personally showed us up to the room. The room is decently sized with tall windows and beautiful views of the water. There is ample parking behind the hotel, which is free. We only stayed here for 1 night but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Older hotel with some renovations so don't expect too much. No lift with only stair access to upper floor rooms. No tv or coffee/tea facilities in rooms
Breakfast was buffet style and well presented. Bed was very comfortable and slept well. good location and easy to find. Staff helpful and friendly.

Common bathrooms.

Surrounding area nothing to look at, but that’s just how it goes!
We were happily surprised by this one! Outside not terribly impressive exterior next to industrial-looking dock, but inside perfectly quiet, private, comfy. We had private bathrooms with excellent water pressure. Breakfast included and quite delicious (especially the pillowy little rolls). Hiked up nearby Sandafell Mountain through lupine fields with an incredible vista. Good place to stop traveling through Westfjords. Great overall value!

No means of heating water in the room for cocoa, MREs, etc. There were beds but not much else. More like a hostel. Sloping ceiling cut down on head space.
Location was just what we needed. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean and, although toilets were shared, there were three on our floor and we never had to wait. Each had a shower and was clean.

There is plenty that could be done to enhance the accommodation which would benefit visitors. The food could also be improved if it's possible to get the appropriate staff.
A super location in the north-west, with beautiful scenery and wonderful wildlife. It's a remote area to reach, but the journey is worthwhile. The hotel provides basic accommodation - the pricing reflects this but was less good value than other accommodation we used. Evening meals were available, usually with a couple of menu options, with the alternative being a 40-minute car journey to Isafjordur. Staff were helpful with all speaking good English.

Cheeky pricing for „dinner“: a simple soup with some bread? Over 15€. Old minimal furniture, dark rooms with small windows, table and chair in the darkest corner. Super minimalistic breakfast.

There was nothing we did not like. We would be content to stay there again!
Great place to stay! The staff was friendly and accommodating and were available for any questions we had. The night we were there it was Pizza Night in the restaurant, it was great!!!! We enjoyed ourselves! The location was great, right on the harbor. We were fortunate to have a room with windows facing the water, we loved it!
