Operated by the local Nakhi people and enjoying a history of 15 years, Mama Naxi Guesthouse is a family-style hostel offering cosy accommodation in Lijiang. Free WiFi is accessible in all areas. The lady owner is very very kind to us. We got picked up at the airport when we arrived late at night. Our room was wonderful, clean and had everything we needed.

Making the traditional modern, the luxurious InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort presents beautiful Nakhi courtyard architecture, surrounded by lush greenery. Location was perfect for visiting the ancient town. Breakfast was good. The layout of the hotel was interesting and liked that there were several entrances into the old town. Staff were attentive especially Kokole (? spelling) who cleaned the three rooms we occupied. On the last night, she even left the door to the safe opened as a reminder that I had items in the safe. Very thoughtful. The hotel compound was beautiful and well maintained. Shame there were no balconies to sit and view the gardens from the upstairs rooms.

Featuring classic wood furnishings and a courtyard with greenery, Old Town of Lijiang Meiliju Inn is located peacefully in Lijiang Ancient Town. Free WiFi is accessible in all areas. I travelled to Lijiang Old Town with a Chinese friend. The location was very good, close to an entrance gate of the old town, simultaneously it is close to many restaurant and shops. The room was clean and comfortable, a good quality internet is available. The staff, the owners, was very welcoming and helpful. The owner was open to share with the (Pu-er) tea culture of Yunnan province, and invited many times us to be part of a traditional tea ceremony, which was fascinating. As I travelled with a Chinese friend, I did not have any difficulty for communication. One may need to communicate using a translator, or the owners' daughter(kid) may help to be understood.
