Lovely harbour and village. Plenty of choice when it comes to eating out (Sorrento & The Muddy Duck were our favourites of those we used). Location reasonably quiet, but can get busy at peak times. Jersey traffic has increased somewhat since our last visit 21 years ago! A lovely jewellery business (Le Brocq) in the village, plus a a small clothing shop, grocers and other small shops.
St. Mary is a small village located in the interior of the island, so is only a short drive from many of the island's beaches. We found the location very quiet, and enjoyed the good pub which was within a short walking distance from the cottage. We have visited Jersey many times, our favourite places to eat are : Le Braye and El Tico at St.Ouen's beach, Colleen's at Greve de Lecq beach, The Crab Shack at Plemont Bay, Cafe Uno at St'Aubin and for a special treat : Mark Jordan at the Beach (La Haule.)
Didn't spend much time in St. Ouen's as we met up with friends who drove us around the Island. From observation, there seemed to be a good bus service, the 9 and the 12. A lovely pub nearby,
Beach was lovely (when tide was in). Local Historical sites very interesting with the locals and guides always friendly and willing to talk. Easy to access most places by either walking, cycling or buses (which were excellent). Do not recommend taking a car as it is totally unnecessary. Lots of choice for food although they do close very early for a tourist centre. Complete absence of tack-ware shops (blessed relief).
An ideal location within Jersey. Situated just outside of St Helier, it was just right for us. A 10 min bus journey into the centre, close enough to get all the busses for around the island, but without the built up city location. We were situated just up from the bay and the views from the hotel (Cristina) were amazing.
What a beautiful island so peaceful I found the people so friendly and the food good st aubin s is tiny but I like that reminded me of Cornwall Lovely pubs and restaurants no shops but you can get a bus into st Helier ten mins away the buses are very regular and reliable They only prob I had was not wanting come back home There’s a Indian restaurant opposite the harbour it’s quite pricy but the food is amazing We also ate at the Tenby pub on seafront food good there to we found you had to book a table most places were booked up All in all fantastic break
