Offering a garden and garden view, Gîtes de l'Orée du Bois is situated in Boussières, 17 km from Besancon Viotte Train Station and 17 km from Besançon-Mouillère train station. This has been our favorite stay on our trip. The apartment is so wonderfully appointed with care and craftsmanship. We loved the outside patio. The owners have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the solfège riddle on the stair railing!

Situated within 36 km of Dole Train Station and 44 km of Micropolis in Arbois, Le Comptoir du Voyageur features accommodation with seating area. It was like a home away from home. We wanted for nothing and the staff were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. It was a great base to explore the area from.

Boasting garden views, BUSINESS APPART HÔTEL MONTBÉLIARD offers accommodation with a garden and a terrace, around 21 km from Belfort Train Station. Very nice and clean apartment. With a beautiful view to the garden and possibility to spend time outside (in the garden). Very nice and helpful host, great and easy check in, nice and quite area.

Residence Des Thermes is located in Lons Le Saunier, between Dijon and Geneva. It is next to the Park Des Bains and the Lons le Saunier thermal baths.

Le Metropole is a 19th-century mansion located in a large park, opposite the thermal baths in Luxeuil. It offers a bar and free nearby parking. Free WiFi is available at the property. This hotel was originally built in the early 20th century, But a remodel has the inside looking like a minor version of the Grand Hotel Budapest in the movie--but the subdued version shown at the beginning and end of the movie. Lobby and corridors are clean but drab: dull oranges and browns. Rooms are simple but at least some have a kitchenette. A postcard in the lobby shows the lobby before the remodel. I would rather have stayed in that version of this hotel.

HOTEL CERISE - LES SOURCES Luxeuil-les-Bains offers studios and rooms in the heart of Luxeuil-les-Bains, 100 metres from the thermal spa centre. Free WiFi is available. A self-contained apartment situated within the Hotel de Sources, this accommodation had an equipped kitchenette and an en suite bathroom. Lots of space with a sitting area, a desk and a small dining table. Our apartment overlooked the park and was very quiet. There is parking just outside and a restaurant if you would like to eat there. We used the kitchen which was perfect. We would definitely stay there again.

Set in Les Hôpitaux-Neufs, 12 km from Saint-Point Lake, Résidence Le Sommet offers accommodation with ski-to-door access, free private parking, an indoor pool and a bar. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and helpful and our room (a 2 bedroom apartment) was very comfortable and clean, with excellent self-catering facilities and a large balcony with a view towards the hillside, looking on to a cross-country skiing route. We travelled by train so we didn't have a car, but that was fine as we could easily walk to Metabief, for shopping, restaurants and sports activities (take a torch if returning after dark). There is also a frequent shuttle bus during the daytime. We really enjoyed the lovely pool and sauna and the friendly bar/restaurant. The fantastic team of staff really helped us get the most out of visit, with helpful local knowledge about places to visit, eat out etc.. Definitely looking forward to a return visit.

Situated just 17 km from Herisson Falls, La Chambre des Carrelets features accommodation in Montigny-sur-lʼAin with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as bicycle parking.

This residence is located next to the big shopping center Chateaufarineau, only 15 minutes away from the city centre. A very nice room with a well equipped kitchen. A big parking place next to the hotel. A very helpful staff. A perfect place to stay when you travel.

This residence is 3 km from La Viotte Train Station and 4 km from the centre of Besançon. It offers free Wi-Fi access, a bar and a garden. Quiet (might be less so during school term); comfortable twin beds; good reading lights blocked from other bed by wardrobes, switched from bed, as was overhead (but maybe from only one of the beds); big, en suite, shower room with WC. The morning clerk spent time making sure we got on the right road for our next destination.
