Fantastic place to stay out of the crowds on the south coast. While Höfn and Vik can be overrun, Hvolsvöllur is just out of the way enough to be pleasant. The cats and dogs are friendly and the apartment is very comfortable and quiet. We’d definitely stay here again! The local advice from the owners was very helpful.

Top compliment is that host was lightening fast in responding to a "problem" that didn't even exist. It was simply a difference between cultures. Our fault, but she was "Johnny On The Spot'. Host's husband was super sweet and friendly.

The apartment was very cute and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare a meal. The setting was beautiful with mountains in view from the front windows.
