The location was fabulous! It was an easy walk to the Cathedral in one direction and the Mercado Lavadores in the other. It felt very safe walking around the area after dark and it was an easy 1-minute walk to the taxi stand when it was time to get to the airport. We did hear a live guitarist in the restaurant below but the extractor fan provided great white noise so that it didn’t keep my daughter up when it was time to go to sleep. The studio was in a new building and everything was spotless. It was very spacious and though it was just my daughter and me, it would have been quite comfortable for a family of four. The kitchen has all new utensils, etc. and the owners greeted us with a lovely spread of Madeira cake, biscuits, and Madeira wine. It was such a nice touch and it really showed how they went the extra mile. They were very responsive to our communication when we were coming into the city via taxi and needing directions. We also had an issue one evening that was of no fault of the owners but we needed their assistance. They answered the phone immediately and came right over to help. We were very, very pleased with the service and welcoming we received and would absolutely stay here again.

Apartment was clean, spacious and tidy. View from balcony was good. WIFI was brilliant. There is a great roof terrace where you can swim, sunbathe and relax. Try and see if you can get one of the top flats as you get an even better view out to sea.

The bed was comfortable, we had a cleaning at half of the week. Airport bus stops at front of the building, grocery store in 2-300 m. You can reach the city center in 30 min on foot or 10 min by bus.
