The staff is nice. There is a quite launge on the ground floor with some food and alcohol. The room was very large and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need. The hotel is 5 minutes walk away from the train station.

There’s a storage for luggage that’s easy to use. Walking distance to centre and very convenient. Umbrellas were provided if it rains.

We were surprised at how the kitchen was equipped with utensils, plates, bowls and anything you needed to cook with, even tho we didn’t cook it was nice option to have. Always handy to have a fridge, microwave and toaster oven handy. Able to eat as soon as we got up to get our day going, and always had snacks ready for our late night cravings. The size was great, having travelled with 3 kids. It was clean. Location was great! We would love to come back again and for sure will come stay here!

Shima san is an excellent host, very attentive n accommodating. He always give good recommendations, eg where to eat n shop. We stayed 3 nights n it was awesome.

Don’t be fooled by the 3 star grading. It’s far better than many four or even five stars that I have stayed in big cities in Japan. It’s spacious, tastefully designed, sparkling clean and quiet. Its staff is efficient and helpful. All these locate in a central place of main tourism attractions of Kyoto, many of them are with walking distance. No breakfast is provided, but, with the Familymart two minutes away you get everything you need.

Well situated in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, HOTEL MASTAY jingumichi is set 200 metres from Shoren-in Temple, 700 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto and 1.2 km from Heian Shrine. The hotel is exceptionally well run and the room was great. the shower was really good. The washing machine and soap provided were very helpful. The staff made reservations for us at the restaurant Chikusen right across the street, which was very special.
