Stovetop. Small fridge with a freezer. Utensils/plates/silverware provided. Really, nicely done! You definitely sense that the owners care about making your stay comfortable and pleasant. As a matter of fact, one of the highlights is the staff, who are just terrific. Technically it's not a hotel, but a Hostel (and evidently a really good one). But for those of us who take an apartment, it has all the advantages of a hotel. 24 hour front desk, which means they accompany you to your apartment, no matter what time your flight arrives. Lounge/seating area with free tea and coffee, oatmeal, rice, seasoning, etc. Nice breakfast provided at a small coffee shop onsite. True baristas! (50% discount at all times) Convenience store next door with excellent prices. Open until 2am! Good location close to a shopping mall, but also numerous restaurants, bars (check out Black Market which also has terrific food), and stores, including supermarkets (I recommend Magnum). It is a bit far from the airport, but that also means closer to the mountains. The botanical garden is just okay.

This was a cute place with a yellow theme through out the apartment. It was so cute that I started taking pictures of the apartment to show my friends. You can actually see the Almaty airport sign for your window. It had everything I needed so I could rest for my long layover. I actually had a hard time leaving as I felt right at home and very comfortable.
