The owners have got everything spot on in setting up this purpose-built B&B. Communication of details prior to arrival was excellent. We arrived late in the evening in the dark and rain, but pulling into the tastefully lit and very neat driveway / parking area gave an immediate sense of relaxation. Entry to both the gated drive and apartment was by keypad, so all very straightforward despite the late hour. The apartment was spotlessly clean, with every single aspect so well designed and carefully thought through. Efficient air conditioning, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, impressively well-equipped kitchen (hob, double oven, large fridge, dishwasher, all the crockery and utensils you could need for extended self-catering), and copious cupboard space throughout. It has its own patio area with a pleasant view. The location is peaceful. Ghent itself is readily accessible, but for me the rural area to the north was more of an attraction. Quiet, flat roads in pristine condition made for a very enjoyable early morning run. We were there for only a weekend, but I would have happily stayed much longer.

our recent weekend stay at anno 1673 was a most delightful treat in the countryside of ertvelde... isabel & mario have built a beautiful B&B that is modern in its facilities and function with a tasteful nod to architectural design and history...the surrounding open farmland and the peacefulness makes for a very relaxing atmosphere to sit & enjoy an evening glass of wine or morning koffie... our room had everything we needed, very comfortable & spacious, and the few requests we made, were given promptly & much to our satisfaction... including dinner recommendations for il posto giusto ... so good, we ate there twice! and then, there was breakfast... fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh breads with meats, cheeses and fresh strawberries with fresh-whipped cream on top embellished with shavings of white chocolate...sinful & delicious which made for a perfect start to a great day... we enjoyed getting to know mario & isabel during our stay, and look forward to visiting again...

The hosts, Marc and Katty, were very easy to communicate with for our travels. Very warm welcome and greetings when we arrived. Gave us a tour of the house and showed us where everything was located. Asked if we had questions about anything and if everything was ok for us. Showed us their amazing garden and where we could lounge outside in the very private and cozy outdoor space. Just absolutely amazing people and amazing place to stay. There is a fridge full of drinks. Both soft drinks and good Belgium beer. Even a bottle of wine. Marc explained the different beers to us. Had a very nice sleep in a very clean and comfortable bed. Just very well kept. Beautiful!!! Marc did all the building himself and was very passionate about his work. Very impressive Craftsmanship. I can't tell you one bad thing about this place. Will be back again to visit. The delicious breakfast. Fresh!!! Homemade bread, homemade yogurt, homemade granola, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee. Fruits, cheese , meat's. Farm fresh eggs from their chicken. Very comfy beds, beautiful clean room that was very quiet at night. The room was located close to the city center. A badge to open both the front door as the room itself was very handy.

The host was very friendly (er spricht übrigens auch sehr gut deutsch ;-) ) and fulfilled our wishes e.g. for a vegetarian breakfast which was by the way fantastic! There are free parking spaces only a few meters away from the house so there is absolutely no stress in finding one. We were also able to put our bicycles in front of the house (it's only a 5 km ride to the city center). The whole accomodation was clean and we slept like "babies" in the bed - it was wonderful! We can definitely recommend this B&B!

The location of the accommodation was outside the main city. However, with the car, it was only a 15-minute drive. The kitchen was also well equipped, and we could prepare our daily takeaways.
