Good location, lovely old house that has been in the family since it was built in 1890. All the little touches are impeccable, but the true greatness of this place is the hosts who are just like family. My wife said it is like staying with your uncle and aunt. Overall, a great stay.

You have to enter a stop light controlled tunnel, but it is not a problem. It is what makes this property unique. The real star of this property is Sara hostess. Our airlines lost our luggage. We have t-Mobile 55 Magenta plan which allows us to text and Wi-Fi, but we cannot make a phone call. Sara was kind enough to let me use her phone to talk to the airline. The day my luggage was delivered, Sara acted as the go between with the carrier so we could continue our vacation. Sara was there to greet the carrier, and got the luggage to our room. We have never had a proprietor has service oriented as Sara.

Alice and her husband are very considerate hosts. They have thought about everything to make the place fully equipped and very comfortable. It is great to be able to have the windows open and not have to worry about mosquitoes.

Alessandro was a super host and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Our room had its own entrance, was beautifully decorated, efficient air conditioning, modern ensuite and comfortable bed. There were bathrobes and slippers which were a pleasant surprise. A cold buffet breakfast was included with a good range of options and the freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious. Alessandro gave us information on how to get to the centre of Sestri Lavante, provided a map plus gave us ideas on where to eat.. The property provides ample free parking and safe storage for bikes, both a big plus when considering places to stay.

The Bed and Breakfast is a gem in Sestri Levante - all is there, of course, if you do not expect extras which only 4- or 5-star chain hotels can boast of. This accommodation is for those who love homelike atmosphere and care. The owner, Francesco, is a great host and a person. He gives good tips on where to eat and relax, what to see and do, and how to get to the local sights which Liguria abounds with. His sister, who is also in the business, is also a great personality. I really felt at home at their place. These positive emotions fortify when you get around the property and find that the Portobello is in between two sand beaches - one in the East where the sun rises and one in the West, where the sun sets. In front there is a square with a small cathedral in it. From the windows we got stunning views of the beaches, the cathedral, and the castle which mounts behind it. The B&B is in a 10-minute stroll from the railway station, which is a pleasant walk along the small town's streets. Around the property there are plenty of shops, pasticerias, small cafes and restaurants. In the morning the hosts offer an excellent breakfast, and through the day you can get tea and coffee and some snacks. I shall get back one day, no doubts. Great breakfast served in the garden. The heated water pool and Tina, the owner. She pays attention to every small detail and makes us feel very comfortable and welcomed. Decoration is beautiful.

What a lovely find! The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms and decor were beautifully done, the pool was so nice, and the breakfasts were very generous. Staying here felt like being part of the family and we will certainly stay here again.

The location of the property is excellent, it was very close to the metro station and just a 10-minute walk to to the beaches and some of the most popular touristic attractions and restaurant. The property was very clean, equipped with AC and TV, hair dryer, and a mini fridge
