Un po' esterna rispetto al centro, ma comunque si tratta di una zona tranquilla in cui è possibile girare a piedi di giorno e di sera. Staff molto cortese, pulizia ottima. Cucina attrezzata e a disposizione per preparare tè, caffè, tisane, prendere acqua, cucinare qualcosa ecc..

The hostel is in a beautiful traditional house at about 1/2 hour walk from the center (beware of motortaxi drivers who will tell you all sorts of lies to convince you to go to another hotel of their choice so they can get a commission). The room, living room and kitchen are new and well organized and equipped. Sarisa is a wonderful host who will help you in any way and can advise you about tours in the jungle, etc.

The family that owns Casa Mafaldo is wonderful. They are extremely friendly and helpful. The son and daughter speak English. The location is two blocks from Plaza De Armas and the boulevard. Very safe and secure. There is a supermarket next door which was convenient. Iquitos can be very loud with all of the motorcycle taxis but Casa Mafaldo goes deep into the block, away from the street therefore it is much quieter than most places. The rooms are basic (no a/c but a a good fan) but clean and if you are travelling on a budget and don't want to stay at a hostel, this is your place
