An excellent large-dog-friendly (important in my case) rural retreat a few minutes drive from Palmerston. Easy to find and check in, lovely cottage with high ceilings, all necessary amenities and a comfy bed. Breakfast was an unexpected pleasure and the quality of fruit fantastic. My pup loved roaming around the premises and I enjoyed relaxing near a plunge pool after a long day. The hosts are fantastically accommodating and pleasant: thanks John and Jennifer! will definitely be back. Will bring a guitar next time for a rehearsal as the acoustics in the room is amazing :-)

Absolutely recommend it to anyone. Didn't have a chance to try the spa or the pool but I'm sure it will be the worth it in summer.

We had to let ourselves in by a key from a key box and make our way across a lawn down the side of the building. So we were wondering what we had let ourselves in for. But we shouldn’t have worried because a delight awaits. A extremely large well fitted room, beautifully fitted bath room and a plunge pool.. So much nicer than a hotel. We thoroughly recommend it. Don't bother to hire a car if you are using tour operators for your excursions. Ubers are cheap a plentiful.
