The owner lady got up early in the morning and she prepared a Japanese-style breakfast with warm care. I was able to use the sauna even after the breakfast, so I had a pleasant meal and enjoyed the sauna. I left after enjoying a very good rest in hospitality that I can't feel anywhere else in Japan. The bedding in the room was comparable to a 5-star hotel. All the usable spaces were really clean and organized, so just looking at them made me feel good. The usable space is very large compared to typical accommodations in Japan.

35 km from Huis Ten Bosch, ゲストハウスのスタジオ５１ is a recently renovated property set in Sasebo and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. 15 km from St. The location is really good, 2min from railway station. The host is really friendly and I had nice breakfast. There’s a bar you may order at night but it’s a pity I didn’t have sufficient time here, wish you all the best!

島宿糸 provides a public bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Iki. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Unbelievably hospitable hosts, wonderful atmosphere and the best breakfast we‘ve had on our entire four week trip. Thank you very much!

Set in Tsushima in the Nagasaki region, Guest House「さごんヴィレッジ」 offers accommodation with free private parking. One day, soon I hope, I'll be able to be fluent enough with my Japanese to review places like this one. Nevertheless, still not the case. :'( This place could be described with one world: fabulous. Really, totally, incredibly fabulous. When the bus left me in the middle of nowhere, when I crossed a town slowly, without population to carry out its history, when I found out that the school before the guesthouse was in fact the guesthouse (yeah, should have checked /o), I was as excited as afraid. That was for naught though. Understanding the village his population and history, helps a lot understanding the place. Without children to study in it, the school was closed around 10 years ago, and then repaired, treated with a lot of love and respect until the result you will find there: a cosy, comfortable, clean and warm place run by a bunch of adorable people, always there for advices, recommendations and useful tips. Sleeping alone (not many visitors there !) in this huge empty school may seem a little gloomy and scary (some horror movie vibes ?), you will soon forget about it while enjoying the beautiful scenery surrounding the school, while meeting the villagers and the workers at the tea farm nearby (which were the reason why I went there the first place) and while enjoying the delicious food provided by the hosts (on certain days). These few days were the last of a fantastic month of holidays I spent in Kyushu. Staying there was one of the best ideas I had for sure! お世話になりました!

Situated in Tsushima in the Nagasaki region, Tsushima White House features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. I wish I could give 11 points for this guesthouse. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed in. The host is incredibly kind and we had some great conversations. And not to forget the incredible breakfast! I will come back and next time stay longer.

Located in Saikai and only 38 km from Peace Park, Yukinoura Guest House Moritaya provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. It is a house in a small village, close to the river and to the sea. Its architectural design is contemporary and traditional at the same time. The host and all the community is very welcoming and supportive. It is more than a house. I really enjoyed it.

Situated within 47 km of Nagasaki Museum of History and 48 km of Nagasaki Station, TSUDOI guest house features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Unzen. The location is simply excellent - just across the street are the "hells" that I came to see. It is also very close to the bus stop, so easy to reach for people using public transport. I even had the entire room for myself. The landlord is very nice and helpful. And on top of it, I received a free coupon for the public onsen just a few meters away which was a great experience. I definitely would come back.

Offering a shared lounge, ikibase Guest House features accommodation in Iki. It is set 1.3 km from Tsutsuki Beach and provides private check-in and check-out. Stayed at Ikibase guesthouse for 7 days. At the arrival Takuji one of the main staff members welcomed us very warmly. He showed us what we can do on Iki. In addition, he was very courteous and helpful so that he helped us among other things to reserve a bike. Also at the departure he ordered a cab for us on request. In general, the IkI Guesthouse offers everything you need. The 3rd best beaches are also just around the corner. On Iki you should either rent a bike or a car, because there are not supermarkets everywhere.

Close to both Nagasaki Museum of History and Nagasaki Station, GardenRoom bnb Yumyum is set in Nagasaki and has a hot tub and garden. We really enjoyed our stay at GardenRoom BNB Yumyum. Previously in Japan we had only stayed in generic hotels so it was nice to stay somewhere with more character. The owners are very friendly and kind. They speak a little English so with the help of Google translate you can get by. We were happy with the location, it was walkable to most places, there was a 7-11 a few minutes away and it was close to a tram stop. We liked the room, the bed was comfortable, there was aircon, a fridge and kettle etc (we stayed in one of the western style rooms). We usually avoid shared bathrooms but they were clean and we had no issues even on a night where the BNB was busy. The breakfast was a real highlight. It is Japanese style and was completely different every day, so it allowed us to try a lot of different things as there would always be 3 or 4 ramekins of small items, a soup, a salad, and a main dish. It was also very substantial as there was always bread and rice freely available to go with it, You could help yourself to coffee and water, and tea is available if you prefer. We would be very happy if everywhere we stayed in Japan was like this.
