Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

The main room, which is huge, is very comfortable and has a great library. The location is very peaceful, and it was lovely to be able to sit out on the verandah for meals. Breakfast was excellent. Room and lounge were huge and very comfortable, the sauna and pools were an added bonus. Breakfast was amazing, all local produce and a great way to set yourself up for a day of activity.

Actually we had an apartment as we had our bedroom, living room and great bathroom. Breakfast we had at the owners kitchen. Nice, warm hospitality with great assistance on any need/request (e.g., wash machine and dryer, places to go). Located in a quite neighborhood, short time to go to the village which is very nice and colored one.

With direct beach access, Summerspring Beachfront Accommodation is located in Takaka. Each room here will provide you with a seating area. Beautiful grounds and location. Wonderfully friendly hosts.
