Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located in Sítio da Felpa, S. Jorge, Madeira Island. It offers an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by lush vegetation about 50 km from Funchal. The most welcoming place we have ever stayed and Teresa is the best host we have ever met. Price performance 110%. Very, very good breakfast and great atmosphere! We hope to return :)

Situated in a restored 18th-century home, Casa Da Piedade offers a lounge with fireplace, outdoor garden with barbecue and brightly decorated rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Everything! This place is beautiful, peacefull, quiet at night. It is spotless clean. I would describe it as luxury rural tourism at its best. The location is great, you could sit by the pool all day and look at the mountains and bananas. Its a good position in almost the centre of the island for exploring. Good restaurants and one levada with tunnels around also. And finally, ladies who work there are awesome. They do an amazing job and make you feel like at home. They helped us with everything and for us they made this stay completely fantastic. I travel a lot and this was my top three stay ever. Thank you! Located in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and only 2.1 km from Vigário Beach, Vila Afonso provides accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. My wife and I loved the villa! It was clean and comfy. The host was super helpful and gave us good hiking tips. Would definitely stay again.

Sunset House in Arco da Calheta provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a terrace and barbecue facilities. We had such a pleasant stay! They kitchen is very well equipped with fresh eggs daily to use, the beds are super comfortable, the rooftop is nice, we were able to wash our clothes, the bathrooms have really good water pressure and the house is super clean! There is no more we would wish for. We would come back anytime!

Set in Câmara de Lobos, 700 metres from Vigário Beach, Casa da Cal - by Casas na Ilha offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Honestly at first, I was a bit taken aback that there is no staff on site and that it was more of a house/Airbnb type than a hotel. However, it turned out to be AMAZING. I made this purchase DAY OF because of a very stressful last minute change to my trip, and this place was just what I needed to unwind and relax. Everything was super clean, and safe, and the facilities were just wonderful. I also talked with the cleaning lady the next day and she was super sweet. There were mango trees dropping fruit on the property, and all in all it was just magical. Free protected parking and everything. I felt completely safe there. There’s also a grocery store like a 5 min walk away if you want to go pick things up to cook (as well as many eateries).

In the Santa Maria district of Funchal, close to Almirante Reis Beach, Agnelo Comfort - Accommodation H V has free WiFi and a washing machine. This guest house features accommodation with a balcony. We had an amazing stay at this comfortable apartment! Central location to the market across the street and grocery stores and bus and the waterfront promenade. It felt like we were locals going to the grocery store and taking the bus, not like tourists! The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need! We loved it! Jose was a wonderful host and he was in touch with us from the moment we landed at the airport and any time we had a question he was quick to answer all of our questions! We didn't have a problem with noise from the market early morning but we always travel with a white noise machine so we didn't hear anything. We found the bed super comfortable. We were there for almost 2 weeks and cannot wait to go back to Madeira and hope that Jose's apartment is available when we do!! Thank you so much Jose!!
