Velden is large enough to have every facility one could expect on a vacation and is beautifully located at the end of the Worthersee. Additionally one can drive to mountain walks , country restaurants and pubs or take a train for wider shopping in nearby Klagenfurt with ease

Did not give so much importance to tourist aspects, because it was a stage on a car trip from Germany to Italy. Position on lake is nice and city center was quite animated. Took little train and that was a pleasant ride, with good comments (in German only). Looks overall like a very friendly place.

Rustical location, solid Austrian countryside. Positively surprised that grocery stores were open on Sunday. Negatively surprised that I could not actually reach the lake - it was tightly surrounded by private properties. I would have expected maybe a walkway / bike trail around the lake.

The city is nice, easy to stroll on foot. There is a beautiful waterfront walking route, a nice park with playstations for the kids. Nice restaurants and cafe all around the city. You can also ride the tram for a tour.

Velden am Wörthersee is comparable to Monaco in my opinion. There are another type of Austrians and another lifestyle. There is a lot to see and a lot more to do and enjoy. Nice landscapes and nature spots all over the neighborhood.

Beautiful small city near the lake, on the other side of Klagenfurt. Nice bars, walking patches and the most amazing concert venue in the world - Bluesiana Rock Cafe Velden, with great live blues and rock music from all over the world, and the nicest owner ever.

We were late and arrived at the hotel close to midnight, noone was there by that time, but still everything worked great - had a lovely note from the manager with all the instructions for getting into our room etc, fridge full of beer & sparkling, everything nice, clean & quiet. Breakfast was also very good. And although it's a bit away from the main square etc, it's easily walkable, just a nice stroll and there you are right in the center.

I guess the building has recently been renovated and the lounge area is warm and cosy.
