Highly recommend spending the night vs just doing a day trip. There are only 6 rooms and we felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves after the day tirip guests left. The staff was amazing and took great care of us.

The staff was simply amazing; extremely welcoming, warm, friendly and fun! The also have a dive center at the premises, which made it very comfortable to organize some dives during our stay there; the diving team was equally helpful and friendly. The accommodation (as described) is very rustic and spartan. But if you are fine with that, then I would recommend this place and the island in general for a typical Colombian Caribbean experience :)

Facilities were great, the staff was very kind, the resort is very well equipped for a comfortable and nice holiday, the views and location are amazing.
Food was very nice and they offered free kayak and bioluminescent plankton which are both unforgettable experiences

The trip is too long, you go with a fast boat that is not comfortable at all. High speed, jumping the waves, it gave me a headache once we arraigned to Cartagena from isla grande.
I think the island is not worth it, I recommend instead a full day excursion to baru from Cartagena.

Loved the quiet and elegant boutique hotel vibe.
Loved the quiet and elegant boutique hotel vibe. The hotel was full of really lovely interesting guests and the staff were really welcoming and attentive.
We loved our stay there as quiet interlude to the fast pace of Cartagena.
If you're looking for party vibe then Coralina is not for you (head to Bora Bora). If you're looking for beautiful island shabby-chic luxury then Coralina is perfect.

Incredible place to rest, away from the tiresome sellspeople that crowd Playa Blanca and Barú offering from massages to wrist bands. Here you can actually REST, and do whatever you want to do, snorkeling, kayaking reading. Even work, if you must, the wifi connection was great at the hostel we stayed.
You can easily walk the island or do a round trip vía Kayak (3-4 hours aprox). The Mangle are really beautiful and that's a nice tour to have. The little village of Orika (1500 ppl) is really nice and peple are very kind with tourists. There were 2-3 restaurants that I can remember, but none looked tempting so we stayed with the Hostel restaurant for health sake. No need to improvise. :)
It's a small island perfect for introspection and sea sports as mentioned before. I'd say it's a mandatory visit if you go to Cartagena (hey, you can even sacrifice Playa Blanca without loosing too much, if you must prune a few days of your stay), but definitely try to visit the island. We travelled with 3 kids aged 16, 13 and 12. and 3 nights at the hostel hit the spot for them. More would have been a little too much for them.

This is the furthest island and honestly there’s nothing to do here. Specifically at this hotel, there was only two lawn chairs where the sun actually reached and the rest were always in the shade. And the two that were in sun were always occupied. The one time we did get to sit in them, the dock it’s on was not sturdy or secure. In fact the board under the chair broke as my friend was laying in it!! And the chair leg went towards the water.
The hotel itself had no beach so you had to walk 20 minutes to get there and it was not easily accessible by any means. All the other beaches were private and you had to pay for.
They offered theee excursions - I can’t speak to one. But the other two were scams.

It felt really remote but with everything you needed (be prepared, no A/C.
The Caipirinhas are FANTASTIC how they make them.
Kayaks pull up with cocktails from outside vendors. Adds a fun element.
Most nights they offered something to do after the day trippers left.

This is an island that is completely run for the profits of...
This is an island that is completely run for the profits of the beach resorts who cater almost exclusively to the day-trippers from Cartagena. This means that if you are not in one of these resorts your access to much of the island is restricted. For the most part, there are no evident access points into the interior of the island from these resorts and we found ourselves entering through service entrances to try to get the coast, or a bar and were often found trespassing. Some of these resorts are more welcoming than others and some charge an entry fee for non-guests. However, many of these resorts don't seem to have overnight guests and, therefore, shut up shop after 4pm so there is little-to-no evening activity on the island (and no street lights, so make sure to have a torch with you)
There are some fun and interesting activities to do on the island - enough to fill a day, but the limited access when staying there meant that we were very ready to leave after two nights.
The beach was gorgeous and secluded, the staff serving us food at the restaurant and bar were excellent and sweet. We were worried that the day trippers would be many and be obnoxious but luckily not many people came when we were there. The hotel also arranged a wonderful private boat experience and it was one of our favorite things to do. They also kindly organized a private boat for some of us to get back to the airport earlier than their usual boat time. Tip: Bring water shoes as there are a few sharp rocks in the beach
This island resort is only accessible by speed boat from Cartagena. It has two small but very swimmable beaches, clear water, and plenty of lounge space both in the sun and in the shade. Guest rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds. The internet access was fast and generally reliable, but subject to intermittent outages due to weather. The food and service, while friendly and excellent, isn't always prompt, but then one isn't staying at a secluded island resort because one is in a rush. We hope to return soon.
We stayed in the "Mojito" room, the view was absolutely amazing from the front porch! You could snorkel just by swimming out from the hotel. We had a cold water jacuzzi on our back porch which was nice but there were issues using it. There was one staff member, Jose, who genuinely seemed to care about helping us during our stay. Jose even came to our room after 9 pm when the water stopped working and was able to resolve it.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Although we didnt speak Spanish and many of the staff didn't speak English, they always did their best to help us with what we needed.
There are amazing diving and snorkeling opportunities nearby and trips are run by Diving Planet, based out of the resort.
The pool and beach right at the resort were amazing, just what we needed to relax and be by the water.
the staff are incredible and the food is amazing. what pietro has done in the last 9 months is brilliant and the resort is constantly improving - e.g. I know they are planning on improving the swim area.
location is near town and you can walk to other resorts on the island as well.
the activities on offer are great, and worth doing through the hotel with local operators
Staff were lovely . Food was really delicious and great value . The beach was small and most people dismiss it , but for me it was perfect because it was so peaceful , often I was the only one there. Unlike the neighbouring hotels . I was in an upstairs private room overlooking breakfast room, and it was very quiet , no problems with neighbours or music from the bar
Lovely views, super friendly and helpful staff, amazing sunrise, free access to kayaking, laid back vibe, access to nature.
Our room was beautiful and spacious, liked the concept of not having a roof and having palm trees above.
The luminescence night tour organised by the hotel was a good experience. The night boat ride to the “enchanted lagoon” was magical.
Hotel coralina island is an amazing place to relax and spend some time snorkelling, doing SUP or kayak and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The staff was exceptional, friendly and always very helpful. The food although on the expensive side was really good. We were staying on the calm side but had access to the beach side.
They have the best beaches at Isla Grande with a nice sunrise every morning. There enough places with sun and also with shadow.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I can warmly recommend you to talk to David. He pays most attention to all guests speak perfect English and he arranged a very nice tour for us.
The only good thing is that after an accident because their not appropriate manteinance of the facilities, they help us late in the afternoon to get a boat and taxi to return to Cartagena, obviously not for free as super expensive price, but at least we can return to the city and attend the emergency
Beautiful beach with comfortable lounges. It is not a party island which was perfect for what we were looking for. I particularly liked that the hotel is owned by the native community, I like supporting local initiatives. And they are pros in making your stay comfortable.
Fantastic place to stay whilst exploring isla grande. Beach is just a few minutes walk, staff were super helpful. We booked a plankton tour and snorkel tour with them. Food was excellent, and had a fun time hanging out with other guests
Pretty everything, hotel host technically set everything for us we wanted or needed, transportation, rentals, tours. Very very chearfull and helpfull staff. Restoraunt on a site was really good and very moderately priced.
Location! Hotel has unbeatable location, many rooms have direct access to the ocean. The islands don't have much sandy beaches, so as this resort. Staff are nice and doing the best that they can.
Large and very nice rooms, including terrace with hammock and sea view
Very clean and big hotel area, feels like private island after 3pm
Friendly staff
Nice food at the hotel restaurant
