We prefer Bad Neuenahr to Ahrweiler, as Ahrweiler is the old historic part and gets very busy with tourists. Bad Neuenahr is more modern with river and cycling routes, also many places to eat and drink. we know it so well as we have been going for about 10 years!

Bad Neuenahr is quite beautiful in nature, the area along...

Bad Neuenahr is quite beautiful in nature, the area along the Ahr river is almost entirely car-free and an ideal plays for relaxing strolls or a calm read on one of the many benches. Bad Neuenahr is a great spot to charge your batteries, very quiet. Staying for a week or more is surely recommended, as we haven't seen all and still want to return. It also proves to be an excellent walking environment for both flatter walks and slightly more challenging ones, the Rotweinwanderweg is certainly to be recommended as is a walk to Neuenahrer Berg for a magnificent view over the valley. Where Bad Neuenahr has a bit more modern feel of its Spa heydays, Ahrweiler has an adorable Old Town within its walls. The average age of the people present is somewhat higher, but that certainly does not bother, rather contributes to the calm atmosphere. For the wine lovers the many vineyards have a lot to offer, both fine white wines as very easily likeable red wines. Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler is ideal for a relaxing holiday for those who want to get away from the crowds.

A real gem of a town in easy driving distance from zeebrugge ferry (come off motorways at Vaals for a coffee then drive cross country for a scenic route) Twin towns have lots of shops and restaurants etc to explore. Good base to explore Ahr valley- car bike or on foot. Nice spa in town and others within driving distance. Lots to explore by car - Bad Münstereifel outlet, steam railway at bruhl , day trip up Rhine, racetrack at Nürburgring .

    Lovely, traditional village.

Lovely, traditional village. If you want to stay away from the tourist hustle and bustle, then this is the place to go. Lots to look at in the village, lots of places to eat and drink and plenty of shops too. Not too far from bigger supermarkets either (about a 5 min drive) Lovely cobbled streets, very friendly locals and surrounded by hills of crops.

I was on¡y there one night. It is not a tourist spot but is a useful place to stay. The forest around are nice to see but I did not see anything very interesting in the town. I would not say it is a holiday destination.

The location on the hills overlooking the valley was excellent with great access to the surrounding vineyards. In fact the hotel actually sits on the Red wine walking route. Staff were really friendly, breakfasts were good and there was plenty to see if you venture from the hotel even out of peak wine harvesting season. The nearby town is starting to come back to life after the flooding of 2021 with people and businesses appreciative of our tourist trade.

A wonderful, intimate hotel in the Ahr region. A very friendly and smiling staff. A spacious room (40m2), a well-equipped kitchenette, a view from the terrace on the vineyards. We visited many wine regions, however, it was only in Ahr that we had 3 glasses for a couple at our disposal: a white wine, a red wine and a champagne glass. An amazing wedding anniversary in a place like this. We will certainly come back.

The staff was very friendly. We also received good recommendations about what to do in the surroundings. The location is good if you want to visit the Ahr valley. Everything was clean. Varied breakfast (but no croissant or sweet pastery). Free parking in front of the hotel. Train station in front of the hotel (for those who need it). Nice atmosphere in the hotel.

The main hotel (and restaurant) building was still closed after the flood, but we stayed in the adjacent "Beethoven Haus". The owner was extremelely nice and accommodating. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean and very calm. It's maybe 10 minutes on foot from the center, with nice views. Great quality for the price.

We've been to around 10 hotels/accommodations in Ahrtal and this is the best hotel so far. Staff were friendly, room was exceptional and larger than other hotels, breakfast was worth the price they charge. They offer refreshing prosecco, local cheeses, different eggs, and good quality bread and cakes!
