I was so glad to have chosen this hotel: it made my solo car journey up France much, much better. The village is close enough to the motorway, but still feels like a world of its own. The hotel and restaurant are the project of two former city dwellers, and they are the nicest hosts - as everyone before me has said! The hotel has a comfortable and homely feel, with interesting furnishings collected by the owners. Breakfast was delicious.
Their stylish and informal restaurant Les Chimeres around the corner is absolutely excellent. Mialy really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable as a woman travelling alone, and Thierry cooked a genuinely delicious and inventive meal, frankly better than anything I’ve had elsewhere in France this summer.
All in all, one of those unexpected experiences which leave you feeling you’ve been part of someone fulfilling a dream, and gives you faith in humanity.

Sadly we only made an overnight stay so saw only a limited amount of the town. Its riverside walks looked beautiful and the old buildings interesting. Much more to xplore in this charming town i am sure.

Lovely old riverside town, a hidden gem.
Lovely old riverside town, a hidden gem.
Beautiful and well preserved buildings, but not too chi-chi. It seems to have escaped the ravages of too much tourism.
The only disappointment was the limited selection of restaurants.

The location was terrific. The beds and pillows very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. It was very clean. We were pleased to find cold water in our room when we arrived.
We did not eat at the hotel until our final morning breakfast. It was very good and plenty of it.
Going to breakfast took us into the dining rooms for the first time. They were beautifully furnished and very clean.
There is a small pool available which was marvellous in the heat.
We did an unexpected stop to escape a downpour and found this gorgeous hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated and many offer a stunning view. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and offered a delicious breakfast.. there was even the extra bonus of offering a charging station for our hybrid car. We discovered the lovely town of Argenton sur Creuse which itself is worth the trip.
Delightful place to stay. Our host was very welcoming, and the room and hotel was full of character, clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast too. We were thoughtfully forearmed with a route map to help us navigate the tricky one-way system and advice on where to eat in town.
Location on river lovely BUT hard to get at due to changes in traffic system from last year.Able to access hotel carpark much earlier this year which was big bonus.Lovely breakfast.Although the weather meant we couldn't enjoy using it,the garden /pool area is lovely
I’m sure it’s a great place to stay in the summer but it was 0 degrees and although a radiator in bed and bathroom these hadn’t been put on and it was freezing. The staff were kind and gave us extra bedding 🥶. We had an excellent dinner in the hotel.
Great location near town centre. Parking opposite snd we were able to store our cycles in a secure room at the hotel. We always enjoy the restaurant whose food and service is excellent. Good breakfast and even provided me with a decaf coffee.
A charming and well located hotel. LOvely pool area and a very friendly dog called Newton.
THe owner is a real character and couldn't do enough to help us.
