We enjoyed the closeness of everything and being able to walk to most places. It was an interesting town which we look forward to exploring more fully on our next visit. We ate at a restaurant right next to the station, The Athro lounge, good selection for vegetarians and child friendly, to be recommended.

Good road and rail links make it easy to explore this beautiful region, or you can just hit the coastal path to do some brilliant walking. The short but challenging walk to Borth, for instance, has dramatic scenery but you can then catch the train back to Aberystwyth. For train fans, and the less fit, you can catch the funicular up Constitution Hill for a great panoramic view and I understand there’s a steam train but I ran out of time. However don’t expect golden sands, rather black, coarse grit. For dinner with a difference try Paprika for authentic Hungarian food and wines.

If you enjoy walking - either on streets or coastal paths - Aberystwyth is a good place to do so. We walked from the hotel to the Cliff railway and back on a couple of occasions - but using different routes each time. If you are interested in other things, we didn't visit many locations in the town (it was a stop-over on our way home) but I understand there are a number of attractions - including the Vale of Rheidol Railway which runs trains the 14+ miles to Devil's Bridge. A few miles north of the town is the very interesting Dyfi Osprey Centre with a brilliant set of volunteers and - at this time of the year - good views of the breeding pair of ospreys from the centre's observation platform 200m away from the nest.

A great museum, really interesting and a bit different from what you might expect. Plenty of choice for restaurants, etc. The funicular railway is amazing and good value. The scenery from the top of the hill is amazing. There is not much left of the old fort but it well worth going beyond it to the harbour. And all the people we met were very friendly towards tourist.

The room looked like it have never been slept in, smart and clean. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, tiles, shower door, flooring. I’m only mentioning this as other hotels look far more tired, so it was a pleasant surprise. I had a roast dinner and breakfast, both were quite posh- quality food (beef, bacon, sausages) and well cooked (cabbage, roast potatoes) and well presented. The dining room and bar area are also very well presented and exceptionally clean

The hotel location was great. I was staying here after catching up with friends of many years and needed to stay somewhere local to Aberystwyth, so perfect. I was on the top floor and the small lift was very welcome after a large amount of Aberystwyth hospitality! Take the walk up to the top of Constitution Hill for great views, walk to the harbour, enjoy the many pubs, restaurants. Aberystwyth has a great deal to offer!

The keys are picked up from another small set of apartments on bath street, directly behind the seafront one. The apartment is right in the seafront opposite a diner, so lots of interesting people watching from your window seats. Very clean, lots of little extras like fresh milk, various teas and coffee, even decaf, salt and pepper, even oil. Can sign into your Netflix on tv. Lovely cosy stay would highly recommend.

On the first night our booked room was not available. Mr Emyr Davies, the owner, moved us to a 4bed cottage at no extra cost. Tan-Y-Goer cottage, 4 bed, swimming pool. Hot tub, garden, BBQ and games room. Excellent property, very suitable for families. Our 2nd night we were in the Queensbridge hotel, right on the front in Aberystwyth next to the beach. Large comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.

Location was great with parking at rear. Paid for deluxe room but had to stay in annex since I took a dog. Room was large and comfortable on ground floor and with sea views which was suitable for my elderly mother. Breakfast was good although I had to pay extra £10.00 a person each morning and £30.00 extra for the dog. Had I of booked through the hotel itself the breakfast would have been free.

A budget hotel in the heart of Aberystwyth. Everything that you needed was there. It was clean and tidy and the checkin and out staff were friendly. I was offered a free breakfast even though I didn’t think it was part of the price. It had a car park at the rear which was great not to have to pay for parking. For the price I paid for the room I think it exceeded expectations.

Excellent food for breakfast with plenty of choice. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of space. Location is good as journey to Aberystwyth town centre is only 10-15 minutes, but you have the usual problem with parking. The payment in the car park (bowling green/tennis courts) is by card only which takes a little time to get used to.

We had one nights stay in a standard double room with a sea view. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was charged at £10pp and was very delicious. Parking was free and around the back of the hotel although is very limited so I would advise to get there early if hoping to park on the carpark.
