The location was ideal for being able to experience all of Arran but also finding some peace and quiet. The little stream was loved by our dog and made sitting out on the decking all the more peaceful. Its a compact but very well thought out space. Hosts were super friendly & very helpful.
This must be the place - Arran, Lamlash is recently renovated and includes a living room with a flat-screen TV. Both free Wifi and parking on-site are accessible at the apartment free of charge.

Lovely flat, and a handy location in Lamlash. Nice job on the decor, lots of nice touches throughout.

Butt Lodge is in a superb location and has a lovely homely feel as soon as you walk through the door. The hosts couldn't be more helpful, kind and informative and the cooked breakfasts and evening meals are just superb. We had 2 dogs with us who were also made welcome and it was great to walk out to stunning countryside and coastline.
Arran as a whole was delightful. There was more than enough visitor facilities and dining options while retaining a sense of community about the place.
We saw seals sunning themselves on the rocks at the shoreline and even a stag casually eating near the roadway at Lochranza.
The car ferries on and off the island were very efficient but do remember to pre-buy tickets online.

Beautiful isle with very friendly local people.
Beautiful isle with very friendly local people. We visited in January which is considered an off-season, so some bars and attractions were temporarily closed. However, we were lucky with the weather and enjoyed many peaceful walks nearby with breath-taking scenes!
Welcoming , comfortable, clean accommodation.Location near amenities and town centre.Great food.Very beautiful scenery and wildlife.Quiet and peaceful but plenty to do if you want it.So many beaches that one is more beautiful than another.Arran definitely is Scotland in miniature and The Old Dairy is a wee hidden gem and has a charm of it's own

We've stayed in Brodick a few times and love the proximity of everything - beaches, woodland walks, Brodick Castle, restaurants, bars, Arran Cheese, the Brewery, Arran Botanicals, the Heritage Museum, Arran Aromatics, Wooleys Bakery, just to name a few.
For food the Douglas Hotel, Ormidale and Auchrannie are good as is the Brodick bar.
The Fisherman's walk is a gentle walk along the front and the beautiful beach with shallow water. Great for families.
Pretty much everything is within walking distance.

Brodick is the main commercial and transportation centre for the Isle of Arran. It is a small place with very limited basic services, and nothing much to see or do in itself apart from the Castle and the Arran Heritage Museum.
The shops were disappointing and there were only two decent restaurants in the central part of the town (I gather the Auchrannie Resort and Spa was good too but did not have a chance to go there as it is rather out of the way if you don't have a car). The best restaurant by far was the Brodick Brasserie - fine dining on Arran!
The best thing about the town is its setting on a wide bay with mountains to the north.

Brodick is no more than a charming seaside village but has a promenade and some entertainments such as crazy golf. Brodick Castle and the Arran Heritage Museum are definite must visit attractions.
The 323 bus to Whiting Bay and the south end of the island is recommended. Blackwaterfoot is also worth a bus ride. Motorists should be wary of the western side of the island where the only roads do not have "A" designation.
This is an excellent hotel for a comfortable stay in Arran. The owner Lorna is exceptionally pleasant and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are all similar. One of our party couldn’t initially get a taxi back to her hotel, a member of staff offered to take her and her partner. The rooms are a good size with decent sized bathrooms. Our view was to Goatfell and the Castle. The breakfast is delicious and varied.
Highly recommend the evening meals.
We loved our stay. Gorgeous views and rooms, peaceful and a great location to explore Arran. The additional communal area was lovely too. The highlight was the breakfast though, beautifully presented, delicious and it left us full until dinner time. Host was very friendly and informative, we asked a lot of questions as our first trip to Arran. Would have no hesitation staying here when we visit Arran again. The afternoon cake was a lovely touch too :-)
Accessible, central location close to port; cosy bedrooms; spacious, fully equppied kitchen, comfy living room.
Great location for walking to nearby amenities incl. cafes, shops, beach etc.
Great base for exploring everything Arran has to offer incl. hiking, swimming, sightseeing etc.
When our return ferry to Ardrossan was cancelled due to staff shortages and adverse weather, Ian was very understanding and supportive and really helped us out.
Our retreat was fabulous. Amazing views and so nicely furnished and fitted out.
Also liked the pool and sauna/steam.
It’s not a cheap break but my money goes towards supporting employment and local businesses on a very small island. I was struck by the evident solidarity of many local businesses on Arran who seem to support each other and the local community - this is important in difficult times.
A quiet, clean, and charming hotel in an excellent location close to the ferry terminal in Brodick. Current check-in/out and breakfast arrangements are different due to social distancing but both work well and are suitable. Very comfy bed and decent value for money. In what little interaction we did have with the staff, they were helpful and friendly. Would recommend.
Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Great view from our room overlooking Brodick bay. A 2 minute walk to the beach and bars/restaurants plus only 5 minutes from the ferry. Ample parking for those with a car.
All in a brilliant stay and would definitely return again.
Our room had a fantastic view on the bay, we spend a lot of time just sitting by the window enjoying the view. The room was spacious, with an en suite bathroom as big as our entire hotel room in London. Great service from the friendly staff.
We were very kindly and unexpectedly not charged for our first night when we couldn't get to Arran, due to ferry problems.
Everything in Brodick is within walking distance of the apartment, including the ferry port.
The house was in an ideal, quiet position just minutes from the ferry. The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen was ideal for us. Arran is a spectacular island with lots to do and see. We'll definitely be back!
Everything! We had an amazing week, Arran was already awesome to us, but west knowe cottage was the icing on the cake so comfortable and genuinely felt like home. Will definitely be back!
This is the best place to stay in Arran. I’ve stayed multiple times and it is always perfect. The location cannot be beat, the kindness of the staff and the comfort of the rooms.
