Kinsale is a cute little town. Beware. Not easy to drive in. Good place to spend a few days.We used it as a base for going to Mizen head, Baltimore and other places south of Cork.
Also note, and this is very common in Ireland, don't get up a the crack of dawn and expect to find a place open for breakfast. A few opened at 8 but more often opened at 9 and even 10. Earlier than 9 were few and far between. Those that are tend to be crowded for obvious reasons.

It was disastrous, my wife decided to go down the town for a walk around as she was walking she noticed foreigners watching her every move and they then started to pair up and follow her, she felt so threatened that she had to go into spar shop and wait for me to collect her. Would never visit there again.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away.
Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away. There are several excellent restaurants where you will have unforgettable experiences. The Black Pig and Finns Farmcut are amazing. Breakfast can be hit or miss, The Lemon Leaf and OHK were excellent. If the weather allows the walk out to Charles Fort is lovely, with a pint of Murphy’s at the Bulmans. The views at the Old Head of Kinsale are breathtaking, and Garretstown Beach is stunning. The tour and tasting at Kinsale Mead is fascinating and a unique highlight. Be careful choosing where to stay, as standards are not reflected by star ratings, and the centre can be noisy. Parking is challenging with two hour max at the central car park, better at SuperValu but you’ll need to move your car overnight.

We arrived later in the evening but were welcomed wonderfully. If you drive to the hotel, know that parking is only what you find on the street. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was nice.
There isn't an elevator available so if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, be prepared to pull your bags up the stairs.
Be sure to book a paid breakfast with your room reservation. It was soooo good and one of the best meals we had in 2 weeks. A good breakfast gave us the energy to tackle a busy day.
Kinsale is a lovely town and even mid-week on a foggy fall day, we loved walking around.
Great location for walking around town. Beautiful, elegant rooms with first class accoutrements. Every detail was superb. But the best part was the array of breathtaking black & white photographs taken by our host, Giles Norman, which adorned the walls.
What a treat to meet Ireland's revered artist his lovely wife Catherine and son Louis and to stay in this wonderful townhouse above the gallery. A unique experience, especially since I am also a professional photographer.
nice clean bright room. We overlooked a childrens playground which was quite noisy. The location is brilliant, and can walk to the centre in a few minutes. On the night of arrival we didnt eat out. There was a chipper a couple of doors up (Dino's) Would go back just for their fish and chips. Weather was lovely. We had a wedding in the Trident Hotel, which was on the doorstep so a very enjoyable experience in Kinsale.
The location was perfect for exploring Kinsale. Everything was close enough to walk to. The staff were great - friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and the number of choices incredible. You could have just juice or tea or coffee and yoghurt or some fabulous cooked options. Also like that there was a pool and workout facility and parking at the hotel
Location was very good and within easy walking distance to everything in the cute town of Kinsale. Room was fairly small but very clean. Very nice amenities (shampoo, conditioner, water) and as we chose the bed and breakfast option, we were given €15 per person at the amazing restaurant downstairs in the facility. The Eggs Benedict was simply to die for - the best I have ever had
Peter and Rasa were excellent hosts - attentive, helpful. The location was terrific. The facilities were great with the best shower I’ve had in a hotel. The bed and pillows were perfectly comfortable and breakfast was very nice. Try the poached eggs! Staff was very good. We will definitely return and I recommend Long Quay House to anyone planning a trip to Kinsale.
We had a large comfortable room with river views from the balcony.
There was a fabulous choice at breakfast from fresh fruits, various cereals and yoghurts followed by a cooked breakfast of your choice. Best white pudding we have tasted.
If you like walking there is a scenic walk from the hotel into the town of Kinsale with incredible views of harbour.
Extremely clean rooms (normally carpet on the floor leads to my allergies acting up, but this was not the case here) and friendly staff. The breakfast was about the best we had in Ireland as well. The house was nice with cosy sitting areas.
Me and my husband spent part of our honeymoon in kinsale 33 years ago this weekend we came back with both our grown up children my daughters partner and my mam we had the best time loved the hotel and staff the breakfast fab 👍
A nice quiet , clean , friendly boutique hotel in the heart of Kinsale ! The room was comfortable and well appointed , with tea and coffee in a common room just down the hall . Very helpful and approachable owner !
Absolutely gorgeous hotel with beautiful marina view. Excellent breakfast, comfy bed, spacious. The walk to town was easier than I expected with plenty to see on the way. Wish we had spent more than one night!
We stayed in the lodges and they were extremely comfortable and spacious. The leisure centre and Spa were excellent. And the views of the country side from the hotel were absolutely amazing.
We loved our time in Kinsale and the owner/host was exceptionally helpful, kind, and friendly! Kinsale was our first full day in Ireland and we could not have asked for a better welcome.
Amazing breakfast and service. Lovely location, easy walk to town. Charming rooms, updated bathrooms. This was my favorite stay out of 4 hotels/guesthouses we stayed at in Ireland.
