The most expensive and most neglected and DIRTY hotel on our trip.
The hotel is an old villa and could be very nice - if anybody cared.
The entrance is atmospheric in the evening ( light and water on only 5 minutes for arrivals)
Also the pool is unique.

Our main purpose was to visit Thyaraja Aradhanai at nearby Thiruvaiyaru. This was served. Our local sightseeing was to Brahadeeswarar temple. This is more a public monument than a temple. Frankly, the upkeep and maintenance of the precincts was disappointing! The place is not tourist friendly. The locker room for footwear was too congested and dirty. You have to brave it out barefoot! The tourists lack civic sense. Even inside the sanctum sanctorium of the Shiva temple, we could see huge cobwebs and big spiders!

It has so many historical and spiritual places to see and learn about. Sadly those beautiful monuments after the holidays ended up with tons of garbage. Very sad to see.
Tamil Nadu is an amazing state in India, so much history, so much culture. Love Thanjavur!

Wonderful city to be in with fascinating temples, architecture, culture and hospitable people. Would recommend at least 2-3 days if only visiting this city, and probably 7-8 days if combining the trip with other must-see cities such as Kumbakonam and Thiruchirappalli. High energy temples, culture-filled museums, tasty fare in local restaurants, beautiful art forms and their famous coffee are what I'd recommend.

The Royal Palace was interesting with a great short film of all the attractions and history of the area in the library. The temple was fantastic and we used to go there early in the morning and after 4pm as the sun was going down. A very peaceful and calm place.

Thanjavur is a place for people who venture and explore to...
Thanjavur is a place for people who venture and explore to learn about history, Architecture, Temples and the ancient practices. The town is small but has very good vegetarian outlets. Good place to buy artefacts but please buy only in authorized outlets.
The museum is not well maintained but gives an insight of the Maratha rule. The greenery around is the one which you will enjoy if you travel away from the town and see around.
Location is a little away from the bustle of Thanjavur - so may not be great if you want to live in the heart of the city. In the room and restaurant, be prepared for mosquitoes. Room is scooper spacious. Restaurant is without AC - but with fans and kinda overlooking a river. They do serve alcohol. Property has ample space to walk and cycle. The bathroom is also massive. Some rooms are a little far and require a fair bit of walking.
The hotel is fairly near to the temple and palace (you could walk but better to take an auto). There is a restaurant on site where I had a decent local breakfast (coffee and dosa). The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel has a lift and parking. I had plenty of hot water for showers. The hotel is very much a budget option, but the price is low so it's pretty good value.
Room is very neat and spacious with very less cost per night. I would prefer to stay next time whenever visit Thanjavur.
Its nearby town, and located in residential area. There are many residencies available but Balaji INN is preferable for visitors who go for medical visit and other purpose..
It was a great to stay at this Hotel and Staffs are very friendly and taking care and it is around 6 km from Thanjavur temple and room is in calm place so we can enjoy our stay and also the complementary food provided is good and they serve Dosa and Poori hot on demand.
Service is fantastic everywhere in the hotel. The best restaurant in this part of the country. Their mutton kheema uthappam is so wonderful. Quantity and quality are superb. Let them keep it up!
I want to hug and congratulate the chef
Great location for a stay in Thanjavur if you're planning to do some sightseeing, walkable to the temples and a few restaurants within walking distance as well. Service was friendly and room was comfortable.
The property is a very compact property near the templet. The place seems to be an old house which got renovated into a hotel. The breakfast was yummy and the service and hospitality was excellent.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown
Very welcoming staff. The first hotel in India where staff were warm, welcoming and smiling.
Clean rooms and good service. Amazing location, very close to the Thanjai Periya Kovil.
The hotel is new and the rooms are neat and clean. Located in prime location. The staffs are very good and kind and they called and guided me till we reach the hotel.
Spacious room, new hotel with in house restaurant which was awesome. The staff were nice and humble. The location of the hotel was good. Overall liked the stay.
