Mimatsukan, hotel in Shibukawa

Featuring a spacious indoor hot spring bath and a rooftop outdoor one, as well as karaoke rooms, table tennis and, Mimatsukan offers relaxation and entertainment in the heart of the Ikaho hot spring...

I recently stayed at MIMATSUKAN 美松館, booking through Booking.com for a night. If you're looking for an affordable option in a great location, this place fits the bill. While it's evident that MIMATSUKAN 美松館 has seen better days, it still provided a comfortable stay. The hotel has an old-world charm, and though some areas show signs of wear, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, ensuring I had a good night's rest. The staff at MIMATSUKAN 美松館 were not only polite but also went out of their way to accommodate my needs, making my stay truly pleasant. The onsen, a highlight of the hotel, offered a relaxing experience despite the hotel's aged appearance, further demonstrating their commitment to providing a quality stay. Overall, MIMATSUKAN 美松館 offers a decent and restful experience for the price. If you manage your expectations and focus on affordability and a good night's sleep, you'll appreciate this quaint spot in lovely Ikaho Onsen, which is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Kishigon Ryokan, hotel in Shibukawa

Set in a valley surrounded by green mountains, Kishigon Ryokan is 7 minutes’ walk from Ikaho Shrine. It provides a sauna, massages and public and private reservable hot-spring baths.

The hotel is located in a great spot just at the base of a mountain. The hot spring water is refreshing. The room and meals were wonderful!! The private bath was nice to use but the public bath is great too! The small hot spring town is really nice to walk though. A nice lake is just a short drive up the mountain. Initial D was inspired from this mountain, there are many things related to it near by.

The hospitality and services are excellent! During our visit, we were treated like members of a royal family. The most amazing experience that has ever happened to us. The food is so amazing and delicious and all staff are very friendly. Despite the fact that some staff are not fluent in English, they have an electronic translator that will facilitate communication. Our stay at your fantastic hotel was the most enjoyable. We are very appreciative that we were able to stay with you. I appreciate all that you have done! We’ll be back soon! :)

I loved the place. I have never stayed in a hotel that I would have loved more. It was my first experience with hot springs and I enjoyed them a lot. Why not a full smile for bed: my arthritis and futon were not the best friends, haha! But that was not hotel's fault. But I managed well enough. And I have never had a more beautiful view from a hotel window.

The staff were so beautiful and kind! The private onsen at sunset was a perfect way to end a day exploring Ikaho. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore everything there is to see in Ikaho and just around the corner from a bus stop to explore surrounding areas. We will be back to stay at Mimatsukan. Thank you for having us!

Onsen is very good, the area is quite remote, but the hotel is close to various points of interest with short driving distance and it’s within walking distance to the main onsen street. It’s a very professional and traditional Japanese hospitality. All Staffs are nice with outstanding services.

It appears we have booked a smoking room which I found out when I checked-in. The management kindly offered to change room and we were upgraded for free to a much larger room. A big thank to the hotel and shame on Booking.com for not advertising the smoking / non-smoking option more clearly.

Service and servers were the best I have had at any hotel yet, the private bath and deck was incredible. I cannot fault this Ryokan, although it was expensive I would say it was worth it to do once or a few times. I wish I had more time so I could stay another night.
