Rebetika Hotel & bistro, hotel in Selcuk

This hotel is located in Selcuk, a peaceful town retaining its traditional Turkish culture and locality, and next to the ancient city of Ephesus. Sirince is located 7 km from the property.

Well located, a short walk from main town facilities and the basilika. On a pleasant, quiet "backstreet". Host very amenable, giving us a wi-fi router to put in our rooms to maximise signal Shower facilities in our rooms very good, but watch out for the extremely hot water - run the tap first before switching it to shower and standing under it. Very accommodating with breakfast, which was one of the best we had during our stay (generally, Turkish breakfast is not similar to, or to the taste of British tourists) Room clean and bed comfortable.

Good buffet dinner and breakfast. Willingness to change our room when it was found that there was a bird nest right by our AC outlet - the babies WOULD HAVE DIED if the AC had been used. I communicated with the management, and they assure me that the pipe will be deflected, or the room not used until the baby birds have flown.

Livia Garden Hotel features free bikes, outdoor swimming pool, a garden and restaurant in Selcuk.

The hotel was amazing. The Host is very kind and friendly, available to give us directions and advice, such as where to dine (really good suggestion!). The room was spacious and characteristic, very Turkish style hotel. No parking problems. The hotel is located in an area with many restaurants, bars and other facilities. Breakfast is with fixed dish (no possibility to choose from a buffet) with bread, olive, cheeses (yummy!), eggs as you want... so we didn' starve! :-) recommend

Smaller and less touristy with locals attentive to your need and willingness to help. Ephesus Archeological Park was the highlight of the visit. There is no dearth of choices for eating - from local Turkish dishes to Burger King. Selchuk is more convenient to stay as beginning from morning you can at your leisurely pace cover St John's Basilica, Artemis Temple, Ephesus Archeological Park and Virgin Mary's House all in one day.

I’m not sure why anyone from away would come to Selcuk unless they were there to see the antique ruins of Ephesus. That is certainly why we came. If you are in Turkey- I suggest it is a must see. Ephesus is one of the most excavated sites in the world. It is humbling to see how much as a civilized culture we have forgotten- or forgot and have had to rediscover over the millenniums. That said, Selcuk had decent dining options, and other attractions like the Ephesus Museum (where the artifacts are housed), and the Saint John Basilica which are fantastic. Both are blocks from the Akanthus hotel (which I reviewed separately and highly recommend .

We visited Selcuk for one night to visit Ephesus and a friend staying locally. The town was lovely to walk through and easy to navigate. Ephesis was easy to get to, but the tour guide options were more challenging to navigate (beforehand). There are a couple of beautiful restaurants, so do your research. The taxis are a drag. Most have fixed fees but unclear what they include. One time we paid 100TL to go from Selcuk to the hotel, and the next taxi driver charged us 400TL to return. It was a 10-minute drive. Be aware that if you order a taxi to Ephesus, they may include the 'whole trip', whatever that means... Ephesus is worth the visit if you're into ancient history or faith-based movements. You will want to get the audio guide, a guided tour or look up a DIY one online. The Ephesus museum can be done in 45 - 1 hour if you are not a details person. Lots of well-curated objects but narrative and contextualising could do with some work. You might want to brush up on your periods before visiting.

Everything was amazing. Wish we had time to stay more here. Very friendly and courteous owners. They even provided a big water bottle and 2 cups of tea when I asked. We had laundry and we only stayed one night. So we gave dirty clothes in the morning of our check out. Went exploring. And took the clean dried clothes in the evening. So far the best hotel we stayed in Turkey for the best price. Good internet. Hot water. Elevator. Parking. Location by the Bazar. Such a delightful stay.

A truly family run and family style small hotel in Selcuk, near Ephesus. We really enjoyed the helpful and very friendly welcome and all the small, honest, personal touches that we experienced during our stay: an unexpected glass of white wine while we were swimming in the refreshing pool in the courtyard, a just in time cup of Turkish Coffee when I was working on my laptop in the dining room, and also the very delicious and plentiful home cooked breakfasts. Very well done.

A very charming boutique hotel in Selçuk in a small portion of the town just below St John the Baptist church ruins (easy walking distance). It is an owner run and maintained hotel, named after the owner’s spouse. The care for the hotel shows in the pristine look of the rooms. There is a courtyard in the entryway and charming woodwork throughout the hotel. The staff were outstanding. The hotel is very close to Ephesus and and other sites such as the House of Virgin Mary.

Villa Dreams claims to have the best views and it does! Our balcony overlooked the town of Selçuk, the fortress and the ruins of St. John's Basilica. Every evening, we looked forward to watching the sun as it set and, later, the moon along with Venus above Ayasoluk Hill. The staff was helpful in recommending restaurants and how best to visit Ephesus, and breakfast was wonderful! Instead of a buffet, it was served to us at our table.
